No, there wasn't. It set the tone so well for the Barlet's character throughout the rest of the series. Here was a man with whom you do not trifle.
But you seem to be okay with the "fuzzy" vs "fozzie" bear error. I don't know, it doesn't bother me terribly much. I've heard people say some pretty dumb shit.
Yeah… I'll keep that one under my hat.
Lord John Marbury
He is a most welcome guest star, and you will get to see more of him. He never disappoints. I love conversation with Leo in "He Shall From Time to Time":
Josh: An hour with you in a rare book store? Couldn't you just drop me off the top of the Washington Monument?
Bartlet: It's Christmas, Josh! No reason we can't do both.
The Crackpots and These Women
Has to be one of the best episodes of the series. Not for it's particular strength in plotting, but there are moments both sweet and sappy, and heart wrenching and hilarious. I really believe that this was the first episode that Sorkin really knocked out of the park. In a lot of ways, I…
Absolutely one of the best lines of the first season.
These episodes
I think that they are pretty good, but utterly unmemorable compared with what's going to be happening very shortly. Ultimately, I think the main points that are to be taken from these are Bartlet's frustration and the disapproval that the administration has received for their job thus far. Also, I…
"Just how smart are you Charlie?"
"I've got some game."
i like it when
Charlie is getting interviewed,
plus she was all high and stuff.
yeah.. that episode gets a big ol' boo.
Well, in fairness the 9/11 episode that you're referring to isn't really part of the show's storyline and the actors come out before the show and say as much. I'm not sure if you're trying to say that the whole idea of a network television show putting on some kind of play regarding a real life terrorist attack is…
I don't know, don't you kind of feel like it was the West Wing lite? Even some of the story lines get recycled to much greater effect in the West Wing. Now perhaps, if Sports Night had two extra seasons to develop, maybe i'd feel differently, but while both are great shows, I think the West Wing takes the raw…
Sure, but it's hardly a one time thing. Several times through the series, Toby in particular gets to show how smart he is by correcting people's pronunciation.
You are incorrect sir. Sports Night was inferior in scope, subject, and execution. Still great though.
Yeah, I think so. They met at the bar. I don't doubt that there might be some sort of news story regarding the accident. Perhaps Walt will recognize him and put two and two together, who knows… I think Q's story remains unfinished. He's got some anger to take out of Jesse.
Thanks for doing this.
My favorite show, there are many things to discuss, but I don't want to ruin anyone's experience with spoilers. I'm not sure how you're going to avoid them though Steve A couple of things about this episode though, Sorkin likes to make his protagonists look smarter by having their opposition…
Oh, but don't you just want to slap her? Honestly, Walt and her seem so incompatible. That almost cocky "oh, and I called your mother". She makes me cringe, Walt, the drug kingpin, will have plenty of ladies wanting to hang with Heisenberg.
