Agreed.  From start to finish, there isn't a scene that falls flat.  I love "Mitchell", but Pod People's consistency is scary good.

Bob Johnson!

Thank you for linking to the Gateways to Geekery feature.  I was afraid Pod People wouldn't get any attention. ("Trumpy, you can do STUPID things!" —— "The helpless cough of a squirrel with a crushed face, that's what life's all about." ——- "It stinks!"

I don't see what Dan did as "berating."  He pursued her in a very old-fashioned way that, admittedly, is a bit cliche in fiction.  Rebecca responded by insulting his entire profession, and intended to insult him directly as well.  He then defends himself, without insulting her back, and even mentions her "obvious

I agree with you, funny enough.  The first time I watched it, I thought all those things.  I was stunned, in a good way, by the opening.  It was so odd and stark.

Trained them to be ready for the day when they could write their own, more interesting and complex shows.  You are correct, sir.

It kills me to say this, but one viewing of "The Field Where I Died" was enough.

Agreed.  Homicide was extraordinary.  The comparative emptiness of other cop/PI/courtroom shows at the time was all the more evident once you watched just one episode of Homicide.  After all, what show did Homicide consistently lose to in the ratings?  Nash Bridges. Will anyone ever write whole articles and features

And speaking of the music, scrappybilly, you remember the music cue Mark Snow used when really gross, unsettling things were on-screen?  It was used pretty often.  It was like violin strings being plucked to simulate an evil rainstorm.  "Prickly" is what I used to call it.

Brisco County!  Yes!  Wow, the graveyard of shows that Fox tried to pair with X-Files on Friday nights is big.  Sliders, Strange Luck, M.A.N.T.I.S, and many others I can't recall.

I used to watch "Glee" with my wife.  It was a silly show, but it was a musical, and I'm a sucker for those.  The first season was, um, not great, after the first 13 episodes.  The second?  I toughed it out.  I tried and tried.  I made it about 2/3 of the way through the season before I could take no more.  No more
