Non-minor-cult-classic "Adventures in Dinosaur City" would like to argue with your theory.

And earlier he voiced the only moderately sympathetic character in "Titan AE".
I was only offended in the sense that it was a terrible performance. Just really shitty and weird and stupid and gross. I have no idea what the hell was even supposed to be happening aside from giving us an idea of what a "Care Bears" movie would look like if it were directed by Harmony Korrine after suffering…
It really is the best scared and confused "I'm… not familiar with the kind of thing I'm seeing…" face I've seen in a long time.
We just happened to turn the TV on to watch DVR'd Breaking Bad and caught the NSYNC reunion and Justin's victory lap, basically the one portion of the VMAs that was worth a damn.
Ooh, I wonder if they'll fucking come up with some original content instead of fucking stealing from other science blogs?
(Looks at header image in the above link.) I'm saving that for the next time my doctor prescribes the really potent antibiotics.
I'm eventually going to have to add that to my queue because the very idea of a Morgan Spurlock movie about a boy band fascinates me, if only to see what direction (ho ho ho) he takes it in. I'm secretly hoping for about twenty minutes of concert footage in the beginning, then suddenly it turns into a social justice…
I want to see a docudrama made about Smith's Prince story.
Somebody needs to get "Twice Upon a Time" on DVD/Blu-Ray already. Mostly because I can't describe it to other people without looking like I've recently suffered a head injury.
I watched it out of curiosity (never saw the whole thing as a kid) and it was pretty decent. It is very definitely a "Star Wars" cash-in but they snuck in some interesting stuff.
@avclub-d4ff3c518d33328bfadc34f25b054267:disqus Tragically, all the mermaids were eaten by the late-surviving Megalodons.
"Cats" was so heavily hyped when my sister and I were kids that when we took our first ever family trip to New York City, we begged and begged to see it (this was the early 90's, so our other options included something about paying bills or whatever). It was very definitely unlike anything I thought it was going to…
@avclub-991c1161618c95bc94d3e7508c0a3d30:disqus That's Flatworms (more correctly, Planarians), and their regenerative capabilities are indeed freakish.
"Bloom County" was my first encounter with something whose creator wanted to bow out on top instead of getting old and boring. The whole idea of Donald Trump buying the strip and taking it over is, if anything, even funnier now.
The original printed-page Wonderful Wizard of OZ does indeed have some pretty fucked up stuff in it and the very not-dark and not-edgy, kid-friendly approach manages to make it even creepier. Highlights include the Tin Man's origin story, Dorothy's friends' casual attitude towards killing things, and the…
"you watched it as it aired or not at all"
That is freakin' awesome. Merry Christmas-in-August!
Now that you mention it, the weirdest thing about 1983 Week was the lack of "Fraggle Rock" nostalgia.
I didn't watch the "Dungeons and Dragons" cartoon in '83 because I was under the assumption that it was a "boy's cartoon" (the thing so many people nostalgic for their 80's childhoods tend to forget about that era is the fact that a lot of pop culture was really gender-segregated). I missed out the first time around,…
