That is by far one of the finest animated shorts ever to come out of the Disney studio.  I've heard a wonderful rumor that it's still traditionally shown on Christmas Eve in parts of Europe.  Anyone want to elaborate on that?

As it happens, I own that very DVD.  It's called "Classic Holiday Stories" and is one of two "economy" compilations of Christmassy Disney animated shorts.  It includes "Mickey's Christmas Carol", the excellent "Pluto's Christmas Tree", and "The Small One."
