Kudos to VanDerWerff…
That may be the most insightful thing anyone has said about Tree of Life.

Jason Heller…
Jason—these exact words could have come out of my mouth. My wife is a children's librarian and I love her to death, but she refuses to read anything other than children's, but mainly YA novels. She devours about the same amount as your girlfriend on a weekly basis and will read an adult book roughly…
Tasha…
What were the clues that made you feel like the solution was given away too early?
*SPOILERS* Well, that's what I actually meant to say. What was your take on what the denouement meant…was it Satan's baby from the blood that she drank?
So, Scott…
I completely agree with your take on the film. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and could see it eventually becoming a cult classic. However, what's your take on the ending?
I'm in complete agreement.
This just goes to show…
that the reviews that are published when films come out don't have anything to do with where they will end up on the year-end list. Case in point, "Fantastic Mr. Fox", "Inglorious Basterds" and "Duplicity". I can't believe that not only did "Duplicity" end up on the year-end list, but so near…
Leave it to The Onion and Phipps to…
give it a "B" when everyone else in the known world is giving it an "A" and calling it the best film of the year. Of course, I agreed with the "B" for "Precious", so, who knows?
Huh…
No "24"?
I so fucking called this last night…
30 Rock is really starting nauseate me…
Gag Me With A Communion Goblet
The book was trashy fun…I still can't get over the scene where someone survives a fall from a helicopter…but I couldn't care less about this piece of shit. Please, Tom, stop making these dumb movies with Opie.
I didn't have high hopes…
and didn't even plan on seeing this, but got excited after the trailer. Now, I guess I got suckered.
Thank GOD!
I completely understand why FOX would do this after only two episodes. I typically give a new show three episodes before I decide to keep watching or not, but I could barely make it through the least ten minutes of the second episode. It was absolutely excruciating!
Is it just me, or…
Does it seem like the President's daughter might be in on the whole plot, too? I mean, who's next, Dr. Macer is on it, too, and really does have the antidote but won't give it to Jack because she's working with Tony?
Pretty Lame, So Far
I wasn't too impressed. The look of it reminded me of 'The Critic' for some reason, but this wasn't nearly as impressive. There isn't one character I particularly like yet, except for Keenan Thompson's Principal.
Best line …
'Heavy is the head that eats the crayons."
That was the best part…very Sex and the City.
Okay, let me get this straight…
30 Rock gets a better rating than The Office and Parks and Rec this week when both of those shows were clearly better and have been for the last couple of weeks. Personally, I think the quality of 30 Rock has gone down considerably recently. B+, my ass…
Anyone else slightly baffled…
by Zack's comment about 'twisted logic' to Tony killing Larry? How exactly is Tony still trying to save his country and trying to do so by getting Larry out of the way? What could he possibly be doing with that canister to save his country? He's certainly not going to drive over to the…
"A sweetly queasy film"…
That's a term I don't think I've ever heard before…seems like kind of an oxymoron to me.
