Caught the first episode of the Defenders this morning. As someone who works to stay spoiler-free, I squealed when I saw Sigourney Weaver's name in the credits. A very pleasant surprise.

Because it's a publicity stunt. If they were in any way serious about it then they'd approach Netflix, the actual owner of the show, directly and privately. Not in an open letter to the most famous names attached to the show (notice they didn't include J Michael Straczynski in their letter).

I know it's said in jest but there's an issue with calling on women, people of color, minorities, etc. to make whiny straight white men happier by having sex with them, teaching them basic history, etc. just so they maybe won't kill us all.

God dammit. That's what I get for relying on my shitty memory.

One of my favorite J. Jonah moments is from Spider-Man where, right after giving Peter shit and trying to rip him off, Goblin comes in and asks where to find Peter Parker. Without even hesitating he lies to his face to protect his employees.

More succinct than I could have put it.

What happened with Colossal's release/marketing? I vaguely remember when it was announced and thinking "Oh, that sounds right up my alley" but I do not remember it having a theatrical release at all. Did it get buried or what? I saw it recently only because it popped up on my Netflix suggestions.

One man's bug is another man's feature. Having lived in Southern California my whole life, I couldn't imagine having to live anywhere where I'd have to dig my car out of snow every day just to go to work or planning my day around hopscotching from one air-conditioned location with covered parking to another.

Yes, he's led them since they joined with Jon Snow. But why haven't we been introduced to any new Wildling characters since then? There used to be a whole contingent of them but now the only one we see is Tormund. I'd like to see scenes where the Wildlings debate following Tormund to Eastwatch or acclimating to

It's not even an apology. It's a follow up statement to do the bare minimum of "fixing" one of the easiest things to fix in his original statement: actually saying the words Neo-Nazi, KKK, fascists, etc.

Is this the pivot that we've been hearing about for the last year?

And now when he gets criticized (justly, of course) for taking so long to do so little and having additional demands made of him (like, say, acknowledging other acts of violence against groups he's been demagoging against), he and his Fox News cohorts will throw up their hands and say "see?! There's no pleasing these

One thing I'd like to see more of is the Wildlings' take on Westerosi politics/culture. To see them integrating with the Northmen and forming cross-cultural camaraderie, etc. Why is Tormond the only one who gets to speak now?

Ha! I had the exact same reaction. He's definitely got a Christian Bale thing going on.

Classy president keeping it classy.

Nope. She gets offers, sure. But she almost certainly still has to audition for a lot of roles. I doubt that Watts is one of the privileged few.

Not too many people know about him.

Time lapse jokes are one of my favorite features of Wet Hot. Like the reveal that the drug trip to town was only for an hour or that the entire camp put together costumes, a band and an over-complicated obstacle course on 10 minutes notice and everyone was fully informed and on board with it.

Renata gleefully cutting the throat of that cake is my favorite Alyssa Milano moment of the season.

You audition for 100 things and say yes to whatever you're offered, if anything. Very few actors have the privilege of being picky.
