"….and he's not sleeping with Winona…."well, not yet.

Arlo and Aunt Helen were married.

I find it kind of interesting that both Winona and Gary sought to solve their money problems by breaking the law. Winona trying to steal the $200,000 and Gary trying to cash in on an insurance policy. Over coffee, they both talk about making bad choices and behaving in a way they don't recognize. Winona says

I was actually surprised by this. Surprised the Duffy doesn't already have a supply of these items. After all, they do usually come twenty to a box.

The tombstone in the preview is a cross, not the same one. Had beads and (what looks like) a plastic lei hanging on it. Doesn't mean it's Helen's, but…most likely doesn't belong to Skip.

No, there are three tombstones at Raylan's old home. One for Arlo, one for Raylan's mother (can't recall her name) and one for Raylan.

I had the impression that the papers had been signed and sealed at their meeting, but I could be wrong. The way Winona told Raylan that she was "getting her divorce" the day he took her there, and the way Winona spoke to Gary in the kitchen in this episode made me think they had finished up. But…who the hell knows.

You can have an insurance policy and change the beneficiary whenever you like. I owned a policy before I was married, my mom was the beneficiary (aw) and I changed it to my husband once we married, then later to my kids when they came along. Isn't a hard thing to do, and something Gary was worried about her doing

I agree, I think she's a goner and while I give the show points for taking out a popular character, I think it will suffer a little too. All good stories/heroes benefit from having a "caring wise elder" on hand, their absence is always felt as the children run amok. That part of me hopes she's just in critical

@spork and beans, I'm loving the way your mind is working here. Ava as the grand manipulator! She'll be the last one standing after the final show down. Move over Mags!

Winona was bat shit for no reason?
I am disappointed and a bit confused. I thought for sure that all of Winona's bat shit behavior over the past few episodes would turn out to be about Gary's troubles. She needed the money to give to Duffy, or she was avoiding Raylan's calls because she was trying to help Gary out

I find this confusing as well. The insurance policy could have predated their marriage, but it's easy enough to change the beneficiary which as Gary's spouse, Winona should have changed from Raylan to Gary. It seems to me that Gary was fighting to keep himself named has his beneficiary during the divorce meeting.

Ava surprised me
with her full acceptance of Boyd's behavior. The more I thought of it, the more I realized that what I knew about Ava was based on my assumptions of her. We never really knew what she thought about the Crowder business. Still, after all her talk about Boyd keeping his illegal activities out of her

I agree, and I'm hoping we'll see this before the season ends. In my opinion, while Art isn't happy about Raylan's inability to be a good marshal, he is more (and correctly) concerned that Raylan's behavior will get him killed…sooner rather than later.

@spork - I like your "running away from home" analogy. From what I've read here and elsewhere, E. Leonard believes "we are who we are" and true change is difficult, but not impossible. Certainly Boyd is an example of how difficult change can really be, and the jury is still out on whether Ava (and Winona - as she

@Boobies, Winona represents them in their imaginary relationship with Raylan and unless she's a damsel in distress with a heart of gold she has no place in that relationship. It's too bad that she is seen through such a simple lens. I actually find her character very complex and it tells us more about Raylan in

Art and Raylan…I love this relationship and their scene just made me so sad. Even though it wasn't said, I believe Raylan's activities in Harlan were the last straw for Art. He was disappointed in Raylan regarding Winona's activities, but my impression was that he really had enough of Raylan going "after things"

Winona seemed genuinely clueless as to why the anyone would be following her and Raylan, she certainly wasn't frightened. If she did take the money because of some Gary/Dixie Mafia shit, you would think she would have been more concerned about being followed? I agree that there is something seriously wrong here

Great point Spork and Beans. I was also thinking that Carol, if she is as good as she thinks she is, would have considered the road issue. Wouldn't this be a standard part of this type of pre-planning and purchase? So, perhaps there will be more to this story than we are led to believe. I hope so - I love that

Now that's funny.
