I thought Don's reaction to watching Megan on the set had something to do with the scene from last week's episode when he watched his mother through the key whole "enjoying" her time with his new "Uncle". Don accusing Megan of "looking like she enjoyed it" sounded like a similar accusation a young Dick might throw at

First season Raylan would have gone after Ellen May just because that's what he does, and hearing him call her "the whore" more than once just felt particularly dickish—even for him. Need a little R&R maybe?

I love ya Raylan, but you really had your "I'm an asshole" flag flying high tonight. What's going on with your bad self anyway?

Great review, totally agree with the main points. The finale was just jarring — I think the producers might have forgotten that it hadn't been X months since WE last saw the show, and a little continuity would have been appreciated.

The excessive exclamation marks tell me all I need to know.

I found this Arlo a little inconsistent with previous seasons. My understanding is that he has always been more of a thief/con man than a thug, much less a murderer. I remember a scene in Season 2 (?) when he was riding in Raylon's car, asking Raylon how many people he had killed, and then goes on to say that despite

Yeah, I totally agree here — how I saw that scene as well. BUT, it's left with enough ambiguity that he could be written back in IF they were desparate. Mr. Toole survived a gun blast to the face in season 1 and somehow showed up without any scars or other damage, so what the hell — anything's possible.

Awful. Disappointing. The show started to improve because the writers finally got around to giving some of the characters growth and hope. No one wants to watch a show where the darker side of our nature always wins. It's disheartening and after a while, downright boring. It almost felt like a big 'f*ck you!' from

If someone could satisfy my curiousity, I would greatly appreciate it….
How does one get a file from the FBI? In the case of Tim pulling favors to get the file on Quarles, is there a FBI office in Lexington that just passes out the hard copy files on suspects? Did they get sent to Lexington via inter-office mail? Did

I agree. While I appreciate the value it has in contributing to our understanding of Quarles, it really needs to get resolved soon, either kill the guy or have Duffy release him out of some sort of horror related bonding over the monster that is Quarles. Somehow an entire season of hints is below this show. We all

Seems as though Ava is stepping into Mag's and Helen's shoes of bad assery, but I'm not sure how I will feel if Raylan has to either arrest or shoot her. Would be an interesting dilemma for him, one I would like to see play out.

Wasn't he Mose in season 2 of Deadwood? Add another name to the growing list of DeAdwood alums.

Looking forward to when "off my game" Raylan realizes that Boyd played him. Will he care that Dickie is about to become a short timer? I'm finding it hard to believe that Boyd arranged this solely to avenge Ava. I suspect there is something bigger at play here, as there usually is with Boyd. Raylan truly has some

@DrD - funny stuff but now I'll have the image of Art as a jedi master stuck in my head until season 3 rolls around. Sigh.

Thanks Spork, for the insight. I agree that most likely Winona didn't confess to Art but what I love about this show is that they often leave us out of these "off camera" conversations/actions so that they can later take the story in a way that fits at the time.

The only thing I can come up with is that Raylan is still comprehending that Mags only poisoned herself and not just Raylan or even both of them. Even though we knew that Raylan wasn't about to die, he doesn't know this. It all happens so fast - he just looks rather horrified and in shock.

At the beginning of the episode…
…..Raylan asks Art for another week off. Was this truly due to grief over Aunt Helen, or his unwillingness to work with Art? It seemed a little out of character for Raylan unless he was already planning to step back into the mischief going down in Harlan. Any thoughts?

Raylan's expression
As Mags was dying, Raylan had the oddest expression on his face. Maybe it was partly due to the pain from the gun shot wound, but I just couldn't get a good idea for what was going through his mind.
