This ranking is pretty spot on. Only thing I'd change is putting Reservoir Dogs further down, I was shocked by how little I enjoyed that movie when I rewatched it for the first time in ages this year.

The biggest thing I miss about moving from Somerville to Philly a couple months ago is living around the corner from the Somerville Theater. Matinees until 5, solid programing, cheap and good movie food, and root beer floats!

He gets a lifetime pass from me for his episode of Party Down. I've never been a fan of his standup or liked him in movies much, but he is incredibly memorable and funny in that.

I haven't seen it, but I thought that it would be topping this list as I scrolled down and didn't see We Are Your Friend anywhere.

Ugh, Spectre was such a piece of crap. I haven't been that disappointed by a movie in the theater in a long time.

Yeah that feature ruled, I hope they bring it back some day.

And good lord what a scene that was. The evil empire speech, the utter divide between Phillip and Elizabeth, with Phillip breaking down as Elizabeth is becoming more committed than ever. Season 4 can't come soon enough!

I said this up thread, but I'm really bummed with how they've bungled the marketing of The Knick. Its got so many elements that could make it a prestige hit: its a damn medical drama and period piece, its got a sexy movie star, and its directed by a legendary filmmaker. If they're worried about non-movie dorks caring

I'm glad to hear good things about Big Time in Hollywood FL. I love their work with Next Time on Lonny and Britanic, but I was pretty let down by the first few episodes of Big Time. I'll give it another shot though, a couple friends have told me it improves as well.

Leaving off The Knick is a terrible oversight. I'm especially bummed because it hasn't been renewed for a third season yet, and if it had anywhere near the kind of attention it deserves it would get one easily.

The Americans really gets a lot better after season one. If you loved that to begin with I can't recommend the next two seasons enough.

Damn, super happy to see The Americans at number two again, but where on earth is The Knick? Its been absolutely incredible this season, and gets done of the praise it deserves.

Part of what bothers me about these new Trek films is that the casting, Chris Pine aside, is really great. Carl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, and Simon Pegg are all really good in their roles. Unfortunately, my hopes for Pegg course correcting things with his screenplay for this movie don't look promising…

No knock on your love of Bukowski, but I met many, many people when I was in high school and college who read him just to look cool (and made sure to be seen with a copy of Ham on Rye quite conspicuously.)

I haven't played it, but if its anywhere near as good as Risk Legacy I'd say its more than worth it.

Oh man that Mike Watt episode was something else. I could listen to that guy talk for days

I would honestly be mad if they took the ads out of Hollywood Handbook. Everything else I'm happy to see them go (although Scott makes me laugh every once in while when I'm too busy to skip the CBB ads) but Sean and Hayes' are consistently brilliant.

They picked two of my favorite episodes Hollywood Handbook has done too. Tom Sharpling's run over the past few months has been amazing. After about a year of a good friend (who's taste in comedy I trust completely) telling me to listen to HH I finally got around to it this summer and its quickly become one of my

Holy shit I didn't even realize Mac McCaughan put out a solo album this year! This made my day.

Fuck yes Beat the Champ! Best record John's made since Heretic Pride in my opinion. No music made me feel more alive all year long than the bridge to "Choked Out."
