Isn't "fun, breezy" the ideal DLM episode though?

Seriously, why won't he just ask him? How insanely funny would that be, and very much worth the embarrassment.
Last week's episode of U Talkin U2 to Me was phenomenal, I'm so glad they're slowing down and milking that show for all its worth. I thought I recognized PFT's guffawing before he was introduced, and he was every bit as funny as expected. "Just Turtlin' Around" and the Turtle from Entourage podcasts had me in stitches.
I remember liking that season a lot more than 6, and the White House invasion was the kind of awesomely over the top, campy fun that made 24 great, but mostly I just remember being sick of Tony flip flopping on being good or bad. How did that even end up?
Its pretty amazing it was good for as long as it was though. Five seasons of a ridiculous gimmick is pretty damn impressive.
Never mind the time Jack was declared legally dead and then was back to kicking ass a few hours later.
Yeah but at the same time he really sells it when he snaps out of his icy exterior and freaks out, like last season when he unloaded on Tyrion and Cersei.
I completely agree, I thought this was a stronger, more exciting episode than last weeks. We had that great conversation between Jamie and Tyrion in jail, Brienne getting her armor (and inducing amnesia that Jamie isn't a raping shitbag) that great White Walker ending, and Bran's story actually gaining some stakes.
It also had Jack kicking a heroin habit in a couple hours, which might be my favorite bat shit insane 24-logic moment.
I'm actually not a huge fan of Mineral despite being very into emo music (my taste is more Cap'n Jazz or Algernon Cadwallader twinkly) but this is still pretty cool news and I'm happy for them.
I don't know why I hadn't put it together, but it totally does sound like more polished There's Nothing Wrong With Love era Built to Spill! Which is very much okay by me.
American Football and Mineral reunited in the same week, its some crazy 90s emo times.
Why do you think online dating is awful? I've never tried it, and I'm in a very happy, long term relationship, but if I wasn't I'm sure I'd be on websites like OkCupid. I'm sure you interact with tons of shitty people on websites like that, but you'll interact with shitty people at bars or wherever else you're looking…
As someone who used to smoke a lot of pot, and doing so had a pretty awful effect on my psyche, I'd still say smoking pot alone is much different from drinking alone. If you smoke weed alone you'll probably spend a few hours doing what you'd normally do when you're alone: surfing the web, listening to music, watching…
Converge definitely have helped shaped screamo in a big way. Not just through their sound, but through Kurt producing seminal bands like Orchid and Pg. 99 and Deathwish putting out records by big modern screamo bands like Loma Prieta, Touche Amore, and Raein.
Cruel Bloom is a song like In Her Shadow (although I like Cruel Bloom a good bit more) that I appreciate more in theory than in practice. I like that Converge stretched their wings and wrote a Nick Cave-eque song, but I'm not that crazy about the actual song.
If you read the Jane Doe entry in the Decibel Hall of Fame series its pretty much a "he said she said" type of situation with Dalbec. They say his commitments with Bane stopped Converge from booking tours, he says he always put Converge first, they say he never really wrote anything and Ballou played all the guitar…
His point is exactly the one you're making though. Converge is a band that has drawn from a variety of styles to create a distinct, unique sound. Sure they're extreme and heavy as hell, but they still have a huge, still growing fanbase, which I think speaks to how accessible their music can still be.
AWLWLB is an astonishingly good record. I'd probably put it just behind Jane Doe and You Fail Me for my favorite record they've done.
THIS IS FOR THE HEART. STILL. BEATING
