Hey, Once Upon a Time in Mexico is a great fucking movie. That's when Rodriguez became Rodriguez.

Man, you guys are soooo cool
Does the movie tell its story in a compelling way? Regardless of the range of an actor, does his stock character work for the story? Or will liking a movie despite the superficial twee artifice put my hipster cred at risk?

leave the gun in that car and then we'll can take canolis!

"I'd want Wes Anderson to make it, and then get somebody else to do the action scenes."

Venture Bros. is the most deliberate, detailed vision ever realized on television. It's god damn brilliant.

I know I'm in the minority here, but…
I think Disney child stars are stupid.

Mine's more of a boo-hoo than a DAAAAMN, but I tend to develop crushes on artists themselves (Regina Spektor, Edith Frost, Cat Power, Nellie McKay, Emmy the Great). Then a few months pass, and those songs play like old relationships.

I think it has a lot to do with the size of the productions. We were all fine with Myers before his name meant Austin Powers 3 because if all you've got is a string of punchy gags and dick jokes, it's better to come across as "that wacky guy" than "that wacky multi-millionaire."

Buffy was a super hero show, Charmed was Gilmore Girls plus magic. Sparkly unicorn magic. The biggest problem with getting into Buffy is that it didn't get good until season 3, and it didn't get REALLY good until season 5.

My first comic book was some issue of Batman with really abstract artwork that freaked me out. Plus, I had no idea what rubber bullets were, and at that age I was not prepared to see Batman gunning down bank robbers with a pair of Uzis.

Exactly. If the comic industry is really interested in continuity, they should commit to it. Real-time aging, no sliding timelines, and irrevocable character deaths. Otherwise, I just want strong individual folk tales. I mean, Dark Knight Returns has shaped my understanding of Batman more than issue

I think George Michael is hiding Ann in the attic.

Give me a G.O.B.!

A million fucking diamonds!

Actually, phel, I think you were right the first time. The whole clause is the object of the preposition, so it should be "who."

Sara Rue was crush-worthy enough to get me to actually watch "Less Than Perfect" a couple of times.

I spent something like thirty dollars on the special edition Panic Room (kind of a lame movie) just for Fincher's commentary. Even though Benjamin Button didn't exactly impress, I can't wait to listen to that man talk shop.

A totally legitimate counter, Rockford. Nice job.

And I was afraid someone would take it like that, Ellie. I think there are plenty of movies that have followings and are deserving, like Reservoir Dogs or The Big Lebowski. I wouldn't like Darko more without the annoying fan base; in fact, my original post said it was an "…okay movie if you ignore the undeserved cult

God, I'm switching between plural and singular all over the place in that post.
