Wrong guy. Lee Daniels is responsible for Empire. John Ridley of the equally heavy and strangely cliche 12 Years a Slave fame is responsible for this.
This show improves pretty much continually, which is good, wasn't a fan of the pilot.

I'm alright with this, can't be any worse than what we get in a normal year of film releases. Plus while Tusk may be his worst movie from a plot and character perspective, it was easily his most technically accomplished piece, so at least there's that progress.
I was glad they brought that up, John Wick just looked like a fun movie to make, even for the bit parts by him and Leguizamo.

FX/X seems to have a lot of those this season.
