She has a couple songs that I'll admit to enjoying listening to. But I don't think her voice is what makes those songs good (I think she's a bit too nasal) - they're heavily-produced singles with catchy beats, which could probably be sung by at least a dozen other artists and be no worse for it.

That Carlton is a cartoon masterwork. In a snapshot, it captures the physicality of his dance, his dorkiness, his age, and his most distinctive facial features, with nothing more than simple lines. It's amazing.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but Ted Cruz isn't totally unbearable in that video. Maybe it's just because my expectations of him are so unfathomably low, and he's contrasted with an insufferable dork (who is playing Donald Trump), but Cruz is borderline likeable in that skit.

It just occurred to me yesterday that Jon Voigt's face bears a more than passing resemblance to Trump's. I bet he could pull off a great Trump impression - he's also good at being cantankerous and shouty.

I think Starwipe's content is more reliably entertaining, but that Carousel article really is absolute gold (the other two articles linked by @avclub-78bdfa83009fb79fce8a73303b724ee2:disqus aren't on the same level, in my opinion).

Does Clickhole use the tech? Or is it just a twitter hobby of Clickhole's writer?
I guess what I'm saying is, is this article corporate synergy, a plug for a friend, or just some ass-kissing to win favour with the head honcho?

Don't forget, there's also at least one "strange pair of tits". I'm not clear on what makes them "strange" (strangely large? asymmetrical? luminescent? nipple-less?) but it sounds exciting.

I can certainly see why some people would hate him, but I think he's edgy with his comedy in a way that's mostly good, and often funny (haven't seen Brickleberry - and I don't plan to - so I'm excluding that). He's misogynistic and superficial (i.e. mercilessly makes fun of people based on their appearance), but I

Wait a minute, that's not what you said before.

I get a kick out of how early that movie is previewing/screening for critics, on the heels of the critically-despised BVS. It's such a confident move by Marvel to give critics that much time to talk about their movie, before people can even buy presale tickets.

Warren Beatty is still alive?

I don't defend Leto's specific method acting choices. They're, repulsive, dickish (pun intended) and borderline criminal. But I do think it's cynical to suggest that he shouldn't be taking this "acting" thing so seriously. Any actor who just sees themselves as a dumbass in makeup reading other people's words in front

I think Jerry Seinfeld was also in character pretty much most of the time on the set of Seinfeld.

Exactly.
And the Godfather was just dumbasses in suits and funny hats mumbling dialogue for the cameras.
Darth Vador was just some dumbass in a plastic helmet being filmed swinging a colourful stick and bobbing his head around.

Boys will be boys. Charges dismissed.

But group-think rage is all the rage in this day and age, just take, for example, this page: http://www.avclub.com/revie… (how many people trashed BVS without ever seeing it?).

When asked for a grade by Cinemascore, they just made a fart noise.

I don't watch very many Showtime shows, but I think you could count on one hand the number of shows they've produced that have been genuinely good, ever (I think it's generous to call it a downwards trend). And of those loss leaders that hook hapless subscribers (e.g. Dexter, Homeland), quality tends to be fleeting.

I'd correct it, but then you're comment wouldn't make any sense.

I kind of want Brandon Routh to be cast as Superman for a cameo. DC TV can pretend that Man of Steel and BVS never happened, and it would actually establish continuity in their universe. And all they have to do is draw from their existing roster of actors.
