Oh, @avclub-6ca57d2774f04ac8acf3d2b10f0338f4:disqus, I'd almost forgotten that bit of nonsense after this wonderful season. It's a reminder of how far this show has come.

I think that most people want to be able to say "I saw it coming." This isn't a show that lays obvious clues, and it never has been. I think it's perfectly authentic that we didn't see outward signs of Skinner's guilt. As Holder so brilliantly said "perception is circumstantial" - when the vision of the story is

The Holder stuff throughout was golden. Admittedly, I saw Caroline as a wedge between H&L when she season began, but she has actually been a real, understanding human being, and is pretty much exactly what he deserves. I hope the curse of Jewel Staite is over so we get another season to see how she helps Holder

"I felt kind of cheated that Linden's giddy limerence episode was the same as the one in which Skinner makes a face-heel turn"

As did I, @avclub-133c0dfe3a0525b1a3aa3f64b8a7aa8b:disqus. The last season had some fun fanservice call-backs, and the final two eps weren't completely terrible, but man those last few seasons were largely a waste of time. I only watched it for the always predictably funny Justin Kirk, honestly.

FYI The Killing is good now. Legitimately.

Ah yes, I remember the good old days, going over to Windsor for some pre-21 shenanigans. All you needed was a license and a smile. Now kids need passports for underage international drinking.

@avclub-6307a12d5c9e2fb5f23518a9a0ee8dd1:disqus Same here. I haven't seen the original, so wasn't aware of his red-herringness. I wonder if he'll be presented as a Sonya kindred?

I'm starting a tally of Weeds actors who show up. So far we have Esteban and Su-Su-Sucio. Ignacio better be next!

Big Fish legitimately changed how I see (and treat) my father. He wasn't the best growing up, but this movie helped me finally forgive him and move forward.

I'd watch the hell out of Rupert Friend in suspenders.

Becker explained to Seward early in the episode that the cemetery was for those whose bodies went unclaimed after the death penalty was carried out. He needled Seward, asking who would be claiming him, implying that's where he'd end up. I guess Holder thought it was a good place to play target practice with his beer

It wasn't eligible this year because it premiered past the cutoff date. It's eligible for next year, but it's going to take a lot of push to keep it in Emmy voters' memory. I think at the very least Sarsgaard has the strongest chance in the guest actor category.

I think you'll be fine watching S3 without finishing 1-2, but I will make one suggestion: watch the season 2 episode "72 Hours" for a little backstory that informs S3. It's a great hour for Mireille and Joel, too.

I'm not sure if a show this dark could fall into the flagship category. Yes, Breaking Bad is obviously very dark, but in a whole different way. Its comic moments come much more frequently and its whole visual scale is much easier to take than TK's. ABQ is a beauty queen compared to Sud's Seattle. I do hope those two

Ditto this. I don't think I let my breath out until Seward finally did at the end of that rope. What a desperately haunting chain of events.

@avclub-fd618c6be7327c1e01499f3f758fc26c:disqus Her name is Caroline. And yes, you need to watch Firefly…STAT.

I never said the "making a pass" moment was electric. Elsewhere in the comments section I outwardly noted how hilariously awkward the head-butting was. I don't think it ruined the scene, as his immediate reaction was quite honest, but I can see how others might think so.

@avclub-5d546b1b257d62c86b63a948f21fab5c:disqus Oh, man, especially Jacob's. I recall several of his BSG weecaps going into the mid-20 page range. Not that I'm complaining!
