I feel like HTTT wasn't even lacking for good songs, it was just such a hodgepodge with poor sequencing and it ended up coming off as less than the sum of its parts. If you looked at all the songs from that era, though, including the b-sides, there's plenty of good stuff.
There's a fucking chair creak towards the end of that song that I've come to anticipate so hard over the years, it's like a major feature of the song to me now.
