In the song "Smallpox Champion" by Fugazi, I always hear the end chorus as CHAOUGH-CHAOUGH-CHAOUGH CHAMPION

That boxed copy of Ultimate Doom is making me salivate.

YYYYEAH-YEAHHHHHHHHHNNNNN

David Bowie AND Robert Smith.

I totally agree; maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised (it's happened before in comics movies), but it's an extremely difficult role to cast and I'm not really convinced with JGL.

Holy crap, my comment made a difference on the AVclub! I'M SOMEBODY NOW!

Yep; I mean, Neil explicitly instructed his artists to draw Lucifer as David Bowie.

I was a little weirded out by this choice at first, but then I realized this guy wrote The Dionaea House, which is one of the most fantastically creepy things I've ever read, and now I'm kind of excited.

Reminds me that my choice to play Lucifer in the Sandman adaptation died before the project could get off the ground. :c

I remember reading that chapter and just sitting there wondering how the hell they would film such a thing.

No joke, this is actually a game I often play in my head when I need to occupy myself, I just insert him into famous movie roles. Him and Gilbert Gottfried.

Damn, that never would have occurred to me, but that would've been a great choice. I heard someone else mention Jeff Bridges; a little more obvious, but that would have been cool too.

I really, really would like to see Danny DeVito play him now. God damn it.

Who did you guys see in your head while you were reading the book? I erroneously pictured Wednesday as a dead ringer for Colonel Sanders (I heard a bit of the audiobook and I think the dude's voice planted that seed in my head), whereas Shadow in my mind looked like Anton Chigurh.

I was JUST speculating about this the other day, having just finished the book. My guess/vote was Gary Oldman (he's my vote for everything, it's my fatal flaw), but this seems like a good choice too.

I'm gonna be That Guy and throw in Fear of Music vs. Remain in Light.

Sorry, remix is what I meant to say. Obviously they'd remaster it along the way, but yeah, this album needs some liberal fucking-with on the level of Megadeth's reissues. (Although those albums arguably didn't need it)

I'm not saying piracy is the future, I'm saying digital distribution and the freedom that implies is becoming the new paradigm, and with that trend you're gonna get some pirates. It doesn't mean the whole concept of digital distribution is a wash or that no one will make a living selling art ever again.

The guitar hero rips are the only ones I'm aware of; I don't remember them sounding weird like that, maybe seek out another copy of the rip?

Hangar 18 actually popped into my head while I was posting, but I still can't tell how much of that video's enjoyability is intentional.
