When Lee Van Cleef walks that tightrope: Movie magic.

May MSTies always lurk in the AV Club comments.

In related news: The Asylum has just announced an upcoming film about tetanus.

They're doing this before doing Base Wars?

I hear that narration in Timothy Van Patten's voice.

"In order to save the day, I'll have to ram myself into that narrow hole. Hey, they may call me the 'straight piece,' but a guy can experiment, can't he?"

I liked a lot about Into Darkness. It's hard to figure out how much I liked it versus how much I thought it was a mess. One good thing about the current franchise is it has a really good cast, which sometimes saves the more dubious crap. I loved the pre-credits scene in STID. It was so very, very Star Trekky.

I only found out just the other day that Orci is a truther. Where do I go from here? What do I do? How to I deal with this terrible fact about the director of the next film with my beloved Star Trek crew? Is someone else at least writing the film?

At this point, I gonna wonder whether anyone in the cast has an interest in director and/or writing some Star Trek movies. Pegg? Pine? Urban, you've gotta have some ideas.

Have you ever read the short novel Shatnerquake?

A story of astronauts on some kind of star trek.

Holy shit! 9/11 conspiracy theorist????? Oh no. Oh no no no.

Whatever. I love the Shatner.

Hail, Hydrobama.

"These are not the hell your whales!" ::punch!::

The Twilight riffs are something special. I love those.

That's some fair perspective, I'd agree. I mean, it's great, but also we see it through the eyes of someone in love. Just like when you love a person, we look at the show and we see the very best in it.

The thing that made MST3K truly special is the sense of a group of friends genuinely trying to make each other laugh. Cinematic Titanic got much closer to that as they transitioned into focusing on the live shows. I saw them live in St. Louis and there was a great vibe of camaraderie among them on stage.

Also, Universal spent their marketing budget on Barb Wire. Remember Barb Wire? Certainly, you recall the instant classic Barb Wire.

I have a tendency to look at Mallon in a negative light as well, but I try to tell myself that he was the guy who had to deal with the networks and the lawyers and such, so that role kind of forced him to see MST3K from a completely different angle from everyone else. This is me, being charitable.
