Love can conquer this, but I think you two need to have a serious, non-judgmental discussion about ground rules and each of your needs regarding movies.

That, plus the fact that it's impossible to see EVERYthing under the sun. If you only see all the stuff that everyone agrees is great, then it's a steady diet of nothing but "great films," and that isn't very balanced. No, I haven't gotten around to the Godfather, but I did see The Son of Hercules and The Tyrants of

A similar thing happens in Etude in Black when John Cassavetes spots a piece of evidence he accidentally left out and realizes he doesn't have time to do anything about it before Columbo enters the room. Cut to Cassavetes' sunglasses, with a zoom in on the evidence (a rose) filling the lenses.

I just watched this last night, and it's so great. I didn't catch that Columbo caught on so quick, but by later in the episode, when he quickly rules out the guy who had an affair with the victim, I started to realize that Columbo had a pretty good idea it was Culp from the first moment they met. This guy shows up so

The thing with good chili is it's all about the crackers, see?

I know I've just re-iterated the premise of the show - but it deserves to be noted how good these episodes are at challenging you to see what Columbo sees.

There does remain a mystery of *how* exactly Columbo knows what he knows. The viewer knows because he/she witnessed the murder, but at some point you can see that Columbo knows who his culprit is, and he's just trying to put together the evidence to actually convict him. It's not obvious at first what small detail

:( That's too bad.

Is he the Morrissey of classic TV then?

I just watched this one last night. I was feeling kind of sick and didn't want to do anything. I tuned into this on the Netflix and enjoyed the episode beginning to end. I love how at the end it becomes clear that Columbo figured out the murderer the first time he met him, and from there it was all just putting

::smiles, nods head knowingly:: Columbo.

I just want to add another comment about how Columbo is great. Damn, Columbo is so good. I need to watch some Columbo soon.

Any reasonable person would at least accompany this purchase with a note of, "Can we please not tell anyone I did this? I'm rightfully embarrassed about this."

That rich guy should make friends with some drug addicts. I hear they're always trying to sell worthless stuff.

No kidding! He focused on the "harmless idiot" idle rich. I think that's the secret. Gussie Finknottle never gets the prime ministership bought for him and proceeds to use the position to help out his cronies and whatever else the rich are up to.

Yeah, I'm no lover of the prequels. Oddly, though, there are weird secondary characters that I sort of like. Dexter Jettster - despite being 100% cgi - talks and acts more like a regular person than anyone else in the films. You can imagine him thinking to himself as Obi Wan walks out of the diner, "That man is

Somehow, this makes me even more excited about both the Star Wars trilogy and GOTG.

::Cautiously plants several red flags around this comment.::

Shouldn't these people be off throwing dinner rolls at each other at the Drones Club?

No, but we are halfway through White European History Twelve Months.
