i just watched "for british eyes only" yesterday and saw some strange things. when you see the cab of the flatbed truck with the cabin, there is a universal logo on the door which has been obscured in post production, along with the department of transportation "DOT" letters. but the numbers were left intact. and then

the thing is
poor people really don't look like rich people.

good record
but i like the oh sees a little bit more, in terms of the heavy-psych SF garage stuff.

free energy
for a band that is allegedly primarily influenced by t. rex and 70's glam, they sound suspiciously like latter-day weezer.

did anyone hear the song metallica did on the ray davies collaborations album? i was traumatized.

lo-fi filmmaking
cinematic equivalent of covering your mediocre songs with reverb, tape hiss, and distortion from recording things too loud.

wait
so this isn't a new talking heads documentary?

. . . did you just call me "coltrane"?

Schneider "tested very well."
yes, but with whom? what demographic? and how?

no one looked good at the end of that. especially not that monkey!

NME buzzband faceoff
the vaccines got an A-.

i only know this because it was in an interview when they were making the album, but they used a black market skull as an echo chamber by placing a microphone inside it.

ken cosgrove kind of is mad men's steve holt.

endless mike played a recording engineer in "ray". true story.

re: cut off foot:

i really don't think it's a terrible photoshop job.

yup, turns out she did kill a dude. seemed kind of . . . gratuitous.

is it my computer
or did she not kill anybody?

I LIKE BLACK LIPS
i really do.
