The particularly great thing is that BTTF is the only one of those references I know, and I still loved the show. You didn't have to catch all the references to understand that everyone involved was having a ball, and it was kind of contagious.

What I mostly think of when I think of this show is the chyrons. As subtle comedy go, those were frequently amazing.

I have lent my comic out to someone and they never returned it and now I can't remember who I lent it to. It's terribly sad. I'm going to have to buy another copy… that plus the table-read almost made me feel the finale was a real episode.

I can't help feeling it was intentional. Like, sure, Stefan would like his big brother to join in with the sharing of the feelings and all, and deep down I think Damon really would benefit from some shared grieving process, but Stefan has to know as well as we do that OF COURSE Damon is going to run away from the mere

Wait… no. I thought I had, because I knew about the TRAP and about putting Book front and centre to honour him (wow British English attack), but I'm positive I'd never actually watched the whole thing until now. Definitely hadn't seen the little 'anything you can do' mirroring between River and Mal as pilots, hee.

The Operative is the only one I feel is justified, according to Mal's code. He may not be currently carrying a gun, but he is 'armed' in every way that matters - he has combat troops standing by to back him up and has specifically lured Mal in by threatening Inara. That's definitely enough to justify the 'you are a

I have decided that if I ever get a slightly evil-looking cat, it will be called Malevolent. A) because malevolent is a great word and should be used more, and B) because then I can call it Mal for short.

Regardless of what else has gone on in the intervening time, it would actually make sense that without Inara's shuttle rent, they'd be running closer to the edge than normal - especially given how close they were to the edge even when they had that…

Guh, I'd definitely be in for a tv club classic of BSG. I have a hugely complicated relationship with the show, swinging from admiring it is as some of the best tv I've ever seen to despising it as some of the worst-conceived dross I've seen some of my favourite characters forced through. So yeah… conflicted. But at
