THE GREATER GOOD.

THE GREATER GOOD.

Ah, see, for me Book was the "there we go, we've got the required death out of the way" moment. Wash was the moment when I started to panic.

I am so very very torn on Penny's death. Yes she's fridged for Billy's character development, but at the same time she illustrates the exact same kind of point that Wash's death does: people who ponce around with weapons attempting to make the world better inevitably get the people who actually made the world better

Nnnnf. Yeah, that pretty much seems like a cop-out. I shall make a note not to bother reading that comic, should I ever happen across it. He'll stay an operative-affiliate in my head.

@leave_the_silver_city:disqus no, she definitely meant in comparison to in Thor. To a degree I can see her point - Loki's motivations and even emotions are definitely explored more in that film, what with his parentage and his jealousy of Thor and so on - but… yeah. That was his origin film as much as Thor's, really,

Not me personally, but my best friend - who pretty much considers Angel her favourite anything ever, and we founded our friendship on this - came close to hating it, yeah. She was deeply underwhelmed by its lack of plot, felt Loki had been turned into a 1D character, and just generally really didn't enjoy it.

Although I registered and started commenting on different articles, this is the series where I really felt I got to know a few other commenters and became part of a little community. Going to miss them hugely for that reason alone, but also for the excellent analysis of some of my favourite tv shows ever.

Well, I'm glad we didn't completely ruin it for you. I had a similar experience even though I saw it the week it came out here - it came out slightly earlier in the US and Australia, I think, so I saw two friends on a messageboard mentioning the phrase in terms of grief, and so I had a few moment of 'oh holy shit no'

I agree with this: I also think that any little core of optimism that she would normally have to balance the soldier's rationality has been crushed out of existence by Wash's death, and she just can't believe in any good future at that moment.

Really? I read a precis of Back To Earth before that happened and it sounded so awful I cunningly managed to not watch a single minute of it, and then feel smug when everyone else confirmed it was awful, so I was planning on giving this one a wide berth of several hundred miles too. But it was actually bearable?
