Yeah, I could be convinced either way as to when she realises in Ariel. She definitely knows something by the time of the brain scan, but it's unclear if she's just noticed it there or if she already knows. I'm still unsure whether wearing a Blue Sun t-shirt would really be enough to trigger her to stab people - and

Whilst I agree with you that Simon didn't know about Jayne's betrayal until this episode, I think River's known since Ariel (indeed, since 'he looks better in red' and/or the speech about Christmas). I think, this episode, River simply decided to let her big brother in on the secret - her tone of voice isn't 'guess

I do know Brits who eat peanut butter with every appearance of delight, but I am not one of them. It's just not such a big thing over here. I entirely agree with this: for me personally, Whedon plumbs roughly the right depths of 'explore the deepest darkest desires of mankind.' Too much more and it heads for navel-gazing, but at this level (and definitely in Dollhouse) I find it an honestly interesting exploration of humanity.

I'd agree it's not great music, but I still think it's perfect for the show. It has something of the right roughness and 'we only meet one man a year who knows how to play a guitar' for this show.

See, I eat them without cutting them up because I feel I eat more of them that way - if I try to cut around the core I leave out perfectly edible bits too.
