Oh, I need to rewatch that. I remember a strange beauty to it.

And I don't even love Connor! ;)

Yeah, in a way I wish there'd been a situation where, say, the only way to keep Dawn alive was to sacrifice Joyce instead or something (if Joyce had still been alive at the time - but substitute any other Scooby if you like). The closest Buffy ever came to that was attempting to kill Faith to save Angel, and while…

It wasn't so much the crying for me, but after I saw NFA the first time (at the end of an epic bender marathoning the whole Buffyverse in a couple of months), I just wandered around for weeks struggling to connect with reality, with my brain occasionally just breaking and going "…Angel!" again. I seriously remember…

…now I'm wondering if I assimilated that from somewhere else, too. Hmm. Either way, it's a cool interpretation.

Both of them, to me, are a mix of episodes I really like in amongst other stuff that either annoys me or that I tend to forget entirely. Season 5 probably swings it just for having the balls to end as it did, but I did love the more intimate bat-cave setting, light-heartedness and smaller core cast of season 1.

It'd be interesting to do Epitaph One and Epitaph Two together as a feature. Actually, I should really try watching them together some day. I didn't do so at the time because I was worried they wouldn't quite hang together, but now I think I could look at them as essentially a separate mini show.

I've always wondered whether Connor was some indirect fallout from the events of The Trial.

@Scrawler2:disqus I'm not sure if it's a damage-based risk assessment Angel does, or rather a final call on whether Lindsey will, on balance, add more good or bad to the world.

Also favourite character, also favourite arc. I just love everything he stands for - and, really, the fact that he stands for nothing and he knows it but he keeps standing for it anyway.
