I'm somehow less annoyed by Ann and Tom than I was in previous episodes. I think it's because they really were used here to further April's story rather than their own - I just love April becoming a confidante for two of the people she has least in common with (and hates). But if they're not properly broken up within

ALL THE EGGS YOU HAVE.

I kind of can, I think they've built up his character well enough that it works for me - he's very good at cracking codes, putting the pieces together and strongly abhorring the immoral side of counterfeiting (which is a slightly obscure beast that Neal can't quite focus on). I don't think you have to have an

Oh yes, I was thinking that too but forgot to say it. Neal understands living life to fulfil your passions, so having Peter there not as a 'has no passions' contrast but as a 'has passions but can learn to give them up if they're bad for him' role model is much more likely to connect with him.

Heh. I hated those. So maybe that's why.

Hmm, that's true. It's noticeable that the most engagement she's shown recently was in trying to help Peter catch Neal when he had the treasure. Interesting idea. I do think she likes Neal generally, but she's far less willing to cut him slack than Peter is.

I really liked Neal asking Peter if he 'honestly' had a chance for commutation. The moments when those two are just straight with each other are always the best.

Suspension of disbelief? I'll tell you what wrecks my suspension of disbelief. 50% of bad guys on this show having to put on some terribly unconvincing accent or other. Particularly British, for some reason. Argh. Is there any logic behind this? I hate hate hate it and it never fails to drop me out of the show.

I'm definitely a bit unclear on why Sara would think it's a good idea for him to be free. Peter's rationale I can totally see - firstly Neal's his friend and he honestly thinks he's a good person, but secondly can you imagine Neal's reaction to Peter testifying against him? My bet is Neal would be off and running

I liked the first push in this direction, in the Burma episode - particularly as back then Peter did treat Neal as slightly less of an equal - but agree that it's been a touch overdone recently. I think an elder/younger brother vibe would be a much better one for them to rely on, having as it does the usual trope that

I love both shows but do find I have warmer feelings towards the characters in Parks & Rec. They never quite alienate me in the same way that almost everyone on Community has at some point. Comparing characters… I'm not sure I can do your categories, but there are some comparisons that stand out to me when I think

I'd go for a Book Club Classic style thing where we all get to descend on the comments and rip apart something we were all forced to read at school.

The razor's audible in the mix we hear too: did any tv-watching sleuths among us guess what was going on? I certainly didn't. (Though given tv conventions I probably should have…)

Your brooding plant in the corner just nearly made me spit tea all over my computer. I hope you're happy.

I have been waiting for this show to fall apart under its own momentum since I first got sucked in and mainlined it - at the end of season 1. I still think it'll probably collapse someday but I enjoy being pleasantly surprised almost every other week as what I thought might be a downward trend is reversed by something

Yay for new people. I think it gets funnier the longer you watch it because several of the jokes are often little throwaway callbacks to earlier stuff, plus of course half the joy really is just hanging out with a slightly crazy bunch of people.

Okay, did a little bit of research and discovered I'm wrong about Sundays - it's just that nothing I like is on. Heh. But it does seem to be one of our biggest nights for audience figures. Friday gets some pretty big hitting programmes as well, though (it's noticeable that some soaps that air several times a week get

One thing I'll never understand is why your 'big nights' for tv are so diametrically opposite to ours in the UK. Our most aggressively programmed night, as far as I can tell, is Friday. Saturday gets many of the 'event tv' type shows such as Doctor Who. Sunday, on the other hand, is usually a curl-up-with-dvds night.

Hmm, details… *cudgels brain*

Kol's only been 'dead' for 100 years, hasn't he? So he fits in almost as easily as Rebekah, understandably. Finn, on the other hand, has no 'hanging around on the other side' excuse. On the other other hand, however, he also has no character so far, so I don't really care.
