I would love it if this is what she's done. It would also explain the need for Elena's blood, since her bloodline was used to create vampires in the first place. Plus it would mean the spell can't possibly work, which would make me very happy because Elijah needs to stay around, dammit.

This actually all pissed me off on many levels. I do not think Stefan trusts Elena's judgement more than Damon does: he just doesn't tend to argue with her about it. Damon will support Elena if she argues him round to it, as with the werewolf jaunt. Stefan usually just nods and smiles while finding a way to undermine

I really really hope the points in your first paragraph get some attention. I'm all in favour of Elena having character flaws so long as the show actually recognises them. If it doesn't, she just gets annoying.

And almost the first thing she did as a vampire was to kick Damon down a hallway and make it pretty clear she hadn't forgiven and forgotten. Yeah, we need to get some further payback down the line at some point.

Caroline's. It probably wouldn't look as great on me, but the others would look worse. And it looked downright amazing on Caroline. The little puff sleeves and the way the skirt twirled with the least bit of movement: perfect.

Yeah, there wasn't enough explanation of the spell, because it sounded like just linking Klaus to one other killable person would work. Why does it need to be all of them? (And exactly how is she going to kill even a non-Hybrid? Are there more oak stakes lurking somewhere?)

Yeah, and there were plenty of other instances of them slipping off upstairs sexily, or being woken up in the same bed by Damon. It was actually something I really liked about the show (still do, though it hasn't had as much of it lately), that it didn't make a huge deal out of OMG SEX.

Yeah, her reaction to being Damon's snack toy was so perfectly written and acted that it broke my heart. Candice/Caroline is one of the best things on this show out of a lot of very good things.

One of my favourite things about vampire shows when they do it right is that the characters are basically stuck as some version of their teenage selves, even if they have a ton more world-weariness and cynicism. It's not just the Originals - Damon has always been an obvious example of the extremely intense, idealistic

I loved Jones getting all excited about pollen the other week. Heh.

He's also quite fond of running. Away from stuff.

And then it turned out that 'damaged' apparently meant 'had a string broken.' Because no violinist would know to deal with that on their own. Much as I liked the foray into classical music, I don't think the research was quite there…

I still think Sara is on the show not just as a romantic interest but also as an object lesson - from how she was introduced, it sounds like she makes commission on recovered items which would easily be high enough to fund the sort of life Neal is currently living, plus it comes with the 'outwit someone and get a

I completely agree with this take: Neal has clearly been augmenting his lifestyle with bits and bobs of leftover money/jewels/etc for a while now. But I also think they're beginning to drop hints that whatever those reserves were, he's close to exhausting them. I don't know about the Raphael, since that's obviously

You are sadly probably correct. But for some reason I love the idea that he'd have kept it. Can't you just imagine them emailing him to ask whether he approved all the new cakes they were buying? No? Okay, me neither, but still…

I can think of… one liaison. Way back in season 1. (And by non-dangerous I am assuming no vampires, vampire slayers, vampire fodder or drug addicts are allowed.)

I'd forgotten that! I wonder if it's still called The Greatest Cake, too.

There does seem to be a bit of a schism between people who prefer the light-hearted procedural episodes and people who prefer the slightly heavier stuff usually involving Neal betraying Peter or vice versa (I'm one of the latter), but generally I'd have to agree. Perhaps it's just not the type of show to inspire the

I would watch the hell out of that show.

Yay, I rather enjoyed this one. Contrary to last week, the shuffling around of characters to put them in new groupings really worked this time for me. Neal and Sara work reasonably well as an investigating team (though Sara is notably less in control of Neal than Peter), Neal and Diana are always excellent together
