A few questions…
1) Why do Chaplin & Co. have the COB guarded by people they know to be COB loyalists?
2) Why would revealing to Christine that her husband doesn't tell her every unpleasant (and possibly classified) detail about his missions undermine her trust for him?
3) What was that letter with Christine's name on

Based on these responses (which confirm that the target cannot be changed after launch and that there is no way an ICBM could miss by that much), I ask again: What difference does it make whether Chaplin destroys the missile or not after the bombers turned around?

Maybe I'm dim, but can someone explain to me what purpose not destroying the missile serves once the bombers had been turned around?

Is anyone else bothered by Patty's attempt to buy Scully's silence? I saw the hidden tape recorder from a thousand miles away, so someone as cunning and devious as Patty should have as well. Plus, Ellen was offering immunity while Patty could only offer money for Scully's family (Scully was unlikely to escape jail

Given that Patty already admitted to sending Pete to kill Ellen, even if
she now wants to dismiss that as a made-up admission, wouldn't it be a
lot more logical to suggest that Pete acted on his own? Why start by
saying that maybe it was Frobisher? If that were really a possibility,
how would she explain the Pete bit?

Now that Ellen has compromised her ability to use Weld as a witness (due to her arrangement with Patty), how does she plan on explaining it to her clients? Ellen already revealed to the McLaren camp that Weld's testimony would be extremely helpful for their case, so one has to wonder what she plans on saying to them…

I watched episodes 8 and 9 in one sitting so I can't actually remember when exactly all of the below happened, but the entire troll storyline just caused me to shake my head ceaselessly:
