This is actually a really heartwarming/funny, road comedy. And you can see the writers previous Pixar experience all over it. It's got that Pixar blend of heart,humour, and melodrama that boarders on the maudlin but somehow doesn't make you sick.

Just got back from checking it out and…
…it was well-made, but it didn't connect/resonate with me at all. There were a lot of cool visual moments, but none of those made up for the fact that I didn't give a fuck about any of the characters on screen. Which is what I think about all of Edgar Wright's films.

Because 99% of food prepared by the chefs would have recieved positive reviews from the crowd, since the food was free, it was an event filmed for TV, and ergo, people usually don't give bad reviews for free food if it gets them on TV.

I read it and actually found the book quite insightful in the ways other people have found it hillarious.

He's still awesome. But after so many critical bashings (his profit margin for the studio is still relatively unscathed. None of his films have financially flopped or not returned on investment for the studio), he needs to hit up the Black List, pick someone else's script and run with it.
