I said "better movies," not "great movies." It basically comes down to Comedy Central used to be a reliable channel to stop and go "What's on here?" That level of excitement has diminished for me.

Automatic For The People
"Nightswimming." That song kills me.

The evolution of Comedy Central is pretty interesting. I remember The Comedy Channel, which was super-grimy and desperate and very, very funny. Bunch of MST3K, stand-up, Monty Python, SNL, Kids In The Hall.

Comedy Central was also home to Upright Citizens Brigade.

WINTER'S BONE
For the goddamned millionth time: WINTER'S FUCKING BONE deserves the big one. It also deserves nods for directing, writing, cinematography, actress, and supporting actor.

It looks like he's had a C-section.

Encroaching Mortality
This joke is much more cruel when the subject is a boomer going to see "Never Let Me Go," for they shall die at a pace they would have never fathomed and this is the film to remind them of the inevitability.

St. Murse, you make another very good point. The actual physical filmmaking in "Catfish" is horrific. Like nauseatingly so. Mix the camerawork with numerous close-up shots of Google Earth and Facebook, where the pixels are exhausting, and you've got a mess that could not have been intentional.

I love the writing in the scenes between Pete and Trudy. They way these two characters speak to each other when they're alone has always been epic. From their thoughts to their syntax, it's gold.

No Sal in season four. So says Matthew Weiner and Bryan Batt. C'est la vie.

Best Season
I'd second this fourth season being (probably) the best season of the show. Each episode has been gripping, perfectly crafted to the show, and a great balancing act between familiar and revelatory. The greatest episode in my mind is still "The Wheel," but this season has been golden and "The Suitcase"

Oh, goddammit. Totally missed it on the way down.

Goo Again.

Meh.

Whatever
I like the new album.

I really don't see the problem with Entemann's.

Right, yes. Colin Hanks. Forgot about him. Oh! And Alison Brie. Along with Clarissa's dad as Alison Brie's dad. And Vincent Kartheiser was in "Buffy," I think.

No. Seriously. What is wrong with Entemann's?

Endorsements are lazy
This offends the sensibilities. It is an absolutely baffling idea that O'Neal totally hit upon: this show has never done anything close to guest casting. The most famous people to have appeared on the show are John Slattery (who I knew from "Ed"), Robert Morse (who was on Broadway decades ago)
