Agreed, plus there's no reason for anyone to suspect that the jar has anything to do with the missing kid.

Too proud…and too bitter over losing the girl. Back when Walt delivered his "FU" to Gretchen, it was about way more than simple business. Love: some people NEVER get over it.

Re: the tip, at that point I don't think Walt was much concerned about money anymore. I mean he just purchased an M-60 machine gun, so whatever he had in mind is probably something he's unlikely to survive.

I'd be remiss if I didn't point out how that opening scene was one of the saddest, grimmest, darkest moments in TV history. Absolutely brilliant.

But Walt refuses to ever settle for 'second-best' ever again. He settled for 5K re: Gray Matter, he settled on Skyler when he really wanted Gretchen and now that he's in control, he's going balls-out.

I could see it, especially considering how Walt Jr. has already been shown to have a "taste" for alcohol (getting snagged trying to buy beer, drinking with Walt & Hank at the party and gloating about "holding his own").

And that WAS a rather frightening deal with Tuco, too, in light of how he viciously beat Gonzo to death and all. I think I'd remember that one too.
