It's interesting that most great sci-fi/fantasy shows were the other way round. Farscape, Buffy, Babylon 5, Fringe - all of them had uneven first seasons that mixed some promising episodes with some truly terrible ones and then truly flourished in their second seasons. Firefly and Battlestar Galactica seem to be an

Ashur from Spartacus. Yes, he only survived two seasons but that is quite long for the standards of this show.

I've checked some Generation X and it reminded me that I really love this kind of late 70s pop punk in vein of Buzzcocks, Undertones, etc. Can someone recommend me some bands that played this kind of stuff?

Hey, what a great occasion to rave about my favourite Korean dramas!

I think the show has done such a great job of explaining Scorpius' motivations (not to mention giving him a sympathetic backstory) that at some point I almost rooted for him, the only reason I didn't is because of the horrible things he did to our beloved Moya crew.

I almost never post here (reading the posts is usually enough for me), but I had to log in just to say how much I love Scorpius.

I was 8 when I saw "Hard Target", and at least back then, I found the "man-hunting" sequence absolutely terrifying and devastating. This movie is very Hong Kong in that it its tone fluctuates wildly.

I wonder if Todd has read Balzac's Human Comedy, because it's more or less exactly like the "perfect" show he described.

Well, I've only seen few Korean dramas - Conspiracy in the court, Shin Don, Sandglass and Eyes of dawn - and they are all extremely complex, captivating and moving. But then, those shows are like The Wire and Deadwood of Korean TV and are quite different to the most of the usual fare. Shin Don in particular was very

Few weeks ago, when I've been to Avengers, I realized that my filmgoing expectations are getting lower and lower. I mean, I even loved the 3D, especially the short bits that happened IN SPACE!!! I realized that it is all I need to enjoy a movie in cinema. Prometheus obviously has more scenes IN SPACE!!! and it is IN

I never watched Buffy/Angel except for Buffy's first season (which was fun in parts but mostly pretty corny, also I didn't buy most of the actors as teenagers), but for some reason I know about every single damn thing that happened in those shows. I did, however, love a lot of shows descended from Buffy (Farscape,

@PhonyPope:disqus Nah, I learned that from being polish. Eastern Europeans also read AV Club (at least I do).

For Poles, it doesn't help that "Sookie" sounds similar to polish word "Suki", which means "bitches".

I've read the first two books and all the time I was thinking "the story is great, but the style is mediocre and it would be better as a TV show" and voila! Now it became a TV show and honestly this story is much more enjoyable in this format.

It's actually kind of a disturbing trend, because in my opinion the cast of Hannah Montana is a bunch of little douchebags (I mean characters, not the actors, I don't know much about the latter). At least Phineas and Ferb will always be lovable.

I watched few episodes of the show and I remember that they were quietly terrifying. In one of them main character erased her brother from existence through inresponsible use of magic.
