Oh, Arrow. The show I wanted to watch for quite a long time, but still don't want to commit to because of its alleged slow start and the fact that I've grown suspicious of 22-episode seasons (I never tried Person of Interest for the very same reason). How long does it take to actually get cracking?

True, but the s2 finale is my favourite episode of Spartacus anyway. So epic and satisfying.

I think there should be A+ grades, because without it, the As do not seem as meaningful. The reason for this is that the As are given both to masterpieces AND episodes that are "only" entertaining and/or thought-provoking from start to finish and represent the reviewed show at its best. In other words, there is a big

"They're the rock equivalent of PM Dawn." Where is KRS-One when we need him?

You remind me that I need to change my nickname ASAP.

I have not seen or read Divergent (although my sister liked the movie and I like Shailene Woodley), but it's funny how it has an in-story justification for not giving the characters more than one personality trait.

I'm going to out myself as a total douche here, but I want my movies long, because if I've paid for the ticket, I want to get as many minutes of entertainment as possible. Feel free to judge me!

When I watched the first season, I did not as much wanted the supernatural to appear as I simply enjoyed thinking of the possibility that they will. Wondering how insane Pizzolatto is willing to get with this stuff was a big part of the fun. Because of that, I'm glad I watched the season as it aired.

Myself, I've always thought it's a zero-sum game. Everytime something gets better, an equally important thing gets crappier.

It's weird how much of the fun of ExistenZ is in its relatively short second act, which felt tense and wildly unpredictable. The ending actually managed to explain the woodenness of the first act. I do appreciate that the final twists were foreshadowed nicely; that's solid writing.

ExistenZ - my first Cronenberg. From what I've heard, it is pretty representative of his style, and I can't say I didn't enjoy the grossouts. The movie had some pacing problems, though. It took quite a lot to get going and when it did, it seemed to have finished almost instantly. It felt like an Outer Limits episode

Another example of my monumental stupidity.

Holy shit, is the art from this New Avengers issue incredible! I have no insight to present, just had to say 'wow'.

Preacher was an example of how great characterization can help to look past a story's flaws. Did I get annoyed with this series at times? Yes, but I stuck with it because of Jesse and Cassidy. Not to mention Sol Starr!

That's good too know! I know I sound kind of harsh on the show, but I suppose I became annoyed at its repetitiveness mostly because it had some outstanding episodes, so it was disappointing that it started to seem like the writers are becoming lazy. What attracted me to RS in the first place were its bizarre plots and

I've used to love this show for its characters and truly wicked weirdness, but at some point (somewhere between season 3 and 4, I suppose?), I started to find it formulaic to such a degree that it became somewhat tiresome to watch. Then I watched Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty, which made me realize how good the

Somebody mentioned Korean dramas? Okay, so that's a great opportunity for me to rave about Shin Don.

We all know that someday someone should (and will) do the same thing with the Hobbit movies.

Did anyone think that 24 was influential on Nolan's Batman trilogy? I am feeling too lazy right now to make specific comparisons, but especially the second and third one felt like "24 with Batman" to me, with an incredibly tortured but resilient hero single-handedly stopping unbelievably elaborate terrorist plans. The

As a guy who recently wrote few short stories and is hoping to become at least a semi-decent fiction writer, I found this stuff to be quite depressing.
