Again I hope I'm remembering clearing, but I'm pretty sure this was covered. Previous attempts had failed and killed the mother so the panel was put into place to prevent all the potential pregnancies that might disrupt Peacekeeper use of Leviathans for other purposes. They still wanted to create the hybrids but other…
Yeah, definitely don't want to get sidetracked. Your write-ups are awesome and the community is great so the discussions are often more lively than other shows covered on the AV Club. I finished my yearly rewatch of Farscape before coverage started (I had been lobbying for the show in the equally great Deep Space Nine…
I think you might be looking for flaws in "The Way We Weren't" that aren't there or are a distraction to what happens in the episode. As far as I remember Pilot never sees Aeryn without her helmet on and she never sees Pilot without a mask and all bundled up. Crais seems to be in charge of the entire…
Cool, as a fan of commentaries sometimes I think back to when I first saw an episode and wonder if anything gleaned might have made that experience different. I guess I can't divorce what I heard when I get around to watching the episode "normally" again. So if I end up talking about the thing I end up doing the old…
I think he's doing a great job with the role, particularly with the Marine persona.
I was trying to be as non-spoilerly as possible in reaction to
She's been a frequent guest around network prime time, but her role as Jean on NCIS was a season-long arc where she appeared in most episodes. Plus bonus points for her father being played by Armand Assante!
Great write-up. Do you think listening to the commentaries has a big effect on your analysis?
Man, this was the first episode I actually liked after two meh entries and it gets the worst write-up yet? I enjoyed them letting Tony's undercover squeeze from NCIS continually dig a deeper hole for herself and then see the little a-ha moment when Mike went shopping for trackers.
The almost throwaway part of the Clark reveal is how it shows that Sheridan hasn't fully committed to having to lead the rebellion against Earth. He has a lot to deal with on other fronts and his belief in command structure means passing it along to his allies was really his only choice at the moment. I don't know if…
The television equivalent to a hot mess?
Sorry, don't want to get into a derailment, but the Browder/Black years are the worst part of Stargate SG-1, feature a horrible villain whose motives/powers vary as much as they don't fit the universe, and are always the roughest part of my yearly rewatch of the series. Both actors are fine and have some great moments…
As this is the spoiler thread I have to ask, did anyone suspect the chip/something like it just from Scorpius' appearance this episode?
It's such a fun episode. I laugh out loud throughout much of it, but really love the Aeryn/Chricton standoff for the jokes, Rygel's nonchalance and Aeryn holding the gun to her head and laughing about it.
Humans are SUPERIOR!
"There may be periods of time in the conversation when I'll be psychically masturbating."
Okay, since no one else here seems to be speculating on this or have other theories I just want to type this out here to satiate my neeeeeds
The both obvious and then telegraphed solution to the cliffhanger…
Can't get enough of these write-ups, thanks so much! And much praise for all the great comments and discussions that come out if talking about this great show here at the AV Club.
