I was also expecting at least a mention of the The Hum:

Didn't say anything about social media or the internet, which is as tribal as anything else.

Also, nationalism and patriotism -are- evil in the same way religion is. The majority of the time it's a benign source of personal comfort and cultural identity, but too often it gets anti-intellectual, xenophobic, and gleefully quick to violence.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to rep for Molina. Trials & Errors really is a sublime live record, and the guy's entire catalogue is heartbreakingly earnest. Such an underrated and underexposed artist.

I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor in a small Quebec town several years ago. For the rest of my life I'll be trying to recapture that feeling, and failing.

With its toothless gags, a trite message about family, and
dinosaur-caveman co-existence, The Good Dinosaur seemed like Pixar's
attempt to make a film that Sunday schools in Middle America would
approve of. Can't blame them for chasing those dollars, but man was the execution off.

Public Enemy too. Were they even in it?

This show's end credits are going to buy Mark Lanegan a new house!

Right? Venus and Pluto and Mars should be just -killing- it.

The Weaver one was delightful, but it was a credits sequence bit. If they had to have them, -all- of them should have been quick, snappy, and placed during the credits.

Fair enough, that's defensible. I might have misallocated some of my affection for Other Space.

Oh. I thought you were talking about me! You never know on the internet!

? I don't get it.

I thought the main problem was the villain. Neil Casey was great, but his role was clearly destined to be a lackey for a Big Bad that … never arrived. There was such an emphasis on the character relationships that the entire main plot conflict felt shaggy and half-formed. Unsatisfying, ultimately.

I was originally going to go with Lake Bell and Malin Akerman conjoined at the lips, but that felt like a hat on a hat.

Just wait until Malin Akerman replaces her.

Erinn Hayes deserves so much better. She deserved a better vehicle to begin with, and now she deserves a much more dignified exit.

Hip-hop picked the wrong fuckin' time to get emo. Either people need to get really into Public Enemy again, or the genre needs its punk phase right now. Run the Jewels can only do so much.

Shadow of the Colossal Box Office Potential

Yosemite Sam, solvin' crimes.
