I hear that the film plays clockwise north of the equator, but counter clockwise south of it.

A million times yes to this. That song makes me so angry, I hope someone Santa Claws my eardrums out when it comes out. I'm "Simply Having" an aneurysm thinking about it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This show could contend as the greatest show of all time if it was just Phil Dunphy and his kids traveling around the country, fighting crime. Dylan can show up from time to time as a sidekick. Manny can be their Bosley. Everyone else got killed in a boat explosion.

I would say through Season 5 and that whole major arc that I won't give away in case someone does decide to watch. I caught up on Netflix recently and was blown away by how much narrative momentum they had going into that finale. There are a lot of good episodes after that, but nothing comes close to the wrap up on…

You know, I was young when I read this, 11 or 12, and I remember when I read that scene and my reaction was a little more complicated, I'm guessing, than someone who was older the first time they read IT. Remember, this is years before everything was viewable on the web. Anyway, it showed sex the way I saw it at the…

There's something terrible about the other families. I get the feeling Ed O'Neil is Chevy Chasing the show, almost. Gloria's jokes seem to fall into "I'm Loud and Columbian!!!' all the time. And, Cam and Mitch are horrible. They are not funny, or interesting and they have 0 chemistry with each other. 0.

A little bit flat for me this week, especially the dog sketch which didn't seem to go anywhere. That said, Luther was great as always. Doing Bone Thugs was inspired and they nailed that stylistically. The Pizza sketch really worked, but the Tubman sketch didn't hit until the punchline at the end. That was pretty…

Man, there is a palpable laugh vacuum anytime the Dunphy's aren't the focus here. If this show were just Ty Burrell and his son, Luke, travelling around the country, fighting crime, I would love it. As such, any time the other families are the focus, it just comes off as flat or shrill.

No one else laughed at the Reggie Jackson saying "Canadian Health Care?" when asked to sex up his health care costume? No one?
