I feel that perhaps if her jokes were more of the slapdash, impromptu type I might give her more credit. That you claim she bothers with the jokes implies some sort of forethought went into them, which makes it much much worse, and depressing, in my opinion. It's as if someone pored years of practice into playing

I believe a fall out boy album once got an A rating from here…I don't remember who wrote the review, but I hope they've since been fired in an extremely disgraceful fashion.

How about before Second Coming?

I love some me some Big Dipper and Shine on Through is one of my all time favorites, and with the bonus tracks I'd probably boost it higher up the list, but I really have a dislike for Shooting Star, Part time Love and Return to Paradise.

I think all his albums up to(but not including) victim of love are pretty great. Heres a ranking, because why not:

Holy fucking terrible batman!

"There is beauty in the bellow of the blast" from the Mikado. Technically its an operetta but that should count. There are tons of great musical sequences in G&S though, pirate king, modern major general, when the foeman bears his steel, all from Pirates of Penzance. And everything from HMS Pinafore as sung by

As long as Zach Snyder doesn't direct I'll be happy. Fuck that guy.

Even Reality had "Days"

I came to post about the Way of the Tiger series. That was my favorite of the lot back when I was about 10 as well, and that fucked up ending really got me. I always thought I made some bad choice somewhere in book 6 and had to read all the endings in the book just to make sure.

His shtick gets kind of old fast, and yeah, hes mostly just a brand now, but Bob Dylan cited him as one of the best songwriters, up there with John Prine, Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. I always liked last mango in paris, but Dylan mentions Death of an Unpopular Poet as being brilliantly written.

Speaking of Jimmy Buffett and christmas music, his christmas album isn't half bad. I used to work at a coffee shop that had it laying around, so we'd put it on during the holidays. Its worth listening to for the original songs(Sailors Christmas, Ho Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum), ignore all the standards.

They're almost identical, but I like Buffetts version of Southern Cross better than CS&Ns.

I was just about to post about how bad he was in Coriolanus. Easily the worst part of an already pretty mediocre movie.

Turnstiles is really the only essential Billy Joel album. The rest of the albums, you can kind of pick and choose a few good songs. The comments were dead on about him just not being cool though. He must have had some major inadequacy issues because he really really wanted you to believe he was a tough guy.
