Rebecca Hall's treachery was telegraphed, she played a very quick but obvious guilty and shifty expression before Tony's pad was attacked. The role was a waste of Rebecca Halls considerable talent but appearing in an Iron man Movie is a good career move. If you want to see how good an actor she is, watch her in…
Black did a great job with the one liners and comedy in general. For example I liked Rhodes sheepishly admitting his lame password. And Paltrow's delivery of "That was quite violent" after she dispatched Killian was lovely.
I enjoyed the film a lot but admitting that is no fun so how about we bitch about some plotholes?
Well he might have a pressing appointment at Gitmo before he signs his power drink endorsements.
We really need a spoiler space to discuss that.
Never mind the grade, where is the Spoiler Space? I hope that it has not been scrapped in the the aftermath of the recent staff changeover. It's a great forum to discuss the plot twists and themes of a film and the quality of the discussion is always better that that in a regular review since everyone has seen the…
Of jerk?
I guess now is the perfect opportunity to discover the cross-over between AV Club posters and people who watch porn on the internet.
"Then one day she meets this John Holmes motherfucker and it's like, whoa baby, I mean this cat is like Charles Bronson in the 'Great Escape', he's digging tunnels".
I feel like I'm caught up in a pop culture website version of "The Squid and The Whale". I just have to figure if the AV Club is Jeff Daniel's pretentious jackass or Laura Linney's maternal slapper.
I don't know Senor. Have you seen Christina Hendricks husband? Stuff like that can make a man hope.
The funny thing is that looking at their successful show the CW is morphing in a comicbook/fantasy genre channel The pilots that they're working on are also based on those genres. The tween soap opera's are becoming endangered on there these days.
I wouldn't object to seeing Erica Durance on my TV screen again.
We still don't know how many people he wasted on the island. Oliver Queen is closer to Patrick Bateman than Bruce Wayne at this point.
The Rundown is my favorite Rock film and it's the nearest thing that he's ever done to an 80's mismatched buddy film. Unfortunately the buddy is played by Sean William Scott but if you can overlook that then the film is a retro treat. It even has an Arnie cameo.
Clemens is also a very good actress in her own right. I really liked her work in Parades End, she was great at communicating passion and intelligence in her role. She held her own with Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall which shows the kind of talent she has.
The entire three acts are the problem with The Beach. It's competing with A Life Less Ordinary for Boyle's nadir as a director.
Apparently his work in "Moonraper" was unfairly overlooked.
Riseborough was great. She did a great job communicating a sense of brittle unhappiness under the surface. She was really quite the tragic figure when you look at the the whole picture.
