I was going to see Coraline but by the time I got around to it, F'ing Jonas Bros 3D had bumped it out of the 3D theater! Dammit! Now that I can only see it in 2D, I'm just going to wait until it gets to video. Coraline's producers should be very, very pissed at Disney - I'm sure there were other people like me.
Her?
This may blow your mind, but humans are capable of owning CDs made by different artists! So, a person can listen to something they liked as a teenager AND new music!
I get all the hate
I was going to say I don't get all the hate, but then I remembered this is hipsterville where Vampire Weekend is no longer cool and some dude who plays banjo in Greenwich Village is the next big thing.
I would leave it to the AV Club staff to come up with the definition. But, you are correct. It would be interesting to examine why the Cape Fear remake is miles ahead of the Psycho remake, for instance (both being vanity projects to some degree).
"Prove me wrong, kids!"
I have seen HH. I remember it being very tiresome. Lots of Bruce Willis mugging. While I generally don't mind BW (and love Die Hard 1-3 and 12 Monkeys), it was a bit much. The Agony Booth has a great (though incredibly long) write up about the film.
A Request for the AV Club
Nathan Rabin et al,
"Sheetz" is funny because as a kid I'd say "Awww, sheet!" instead of shit. So, "Sheetz" just looks like "Shits" to me.
Not nearlyTHAT boring, but you've proven my point.
OH GOD DON'T SEE THIS! My brother and I read a glowing, glowing, glowing review in [Local Paper] for this film, saying it had incredibly cinematography. First off, it has okay cinematography (not groundbreaking, but if you love the desert…!). Second, the review failed to mention just how numbingly boring and full…
Hey, the Rundown is fun.
Shit, I would have watched that.
I love Face/Off, Tremors, Escape from New York, and Nemesis. I don't think I'm the enemy of fun. I just hate "Domino-style" action films.
The good thing about Crank…
…was that it didn't pretend to be anything more than it was. I hate action films that try to have a big, lame, obvious message and fail, instead of just sticking with being a decent action movie. The bad thing about Crank was every other aspect of the film.
Sorry, my previous comment was directed at Soce, who said:
"You're right. Why support the videogame industry when you can steal games and kill creativity for free???"
NOOO! Die Hard With a Vengeance has Jeremy Irons (Jeremy's Iron) and Sam Jackson. Live Free or Die Hard has the Mac kid and computer hacking (and Kevin Smith).
What is creative about just using new sprites on really old games?
Tha whole city behind you!
