This proves mainly that David Lynch is cool enough to know who Johnny Dowd is, but not cool enough to forego shamelessly ripping him off, nor talented enough (musically) to make the result listenable.

I think the last scene was the worst scene in the entire series. "Breaking Bad", "Boardwalk Empire" kicked your ass tonight, I trust you will show me what you've got next week.

Best episode of the series, not even close.  "Breaking Bad" is a better show, but not tonight.  However, if Steve Buscemi suddenly develops "I am about to be blown to bits" ESP, my opinion will likely change next week.
