I have a friend who has a theory that you either really love or really hate Catcher, and it largely depends on who you are. She then systematically went through the room and predicted how everyone felt about the book and, when I checked, she was entirely correct. I also hated it, fwiw.

+1 from me as well, though I admit that's largely because I still see Matthew Rhys' Brothers and Sisters character every time I see him do anything (which made Death Comes to Pemberly a very odd experience at times).

I agree with this entirely (up to and including fast-forwarding through to Maura's scenes). You've absolutely nailed what I've tried to explain on a few different occasions.

Agreed. I always link to Ignatiy's original review when I try to get people to watch it (which they should, given Netflix!), since that review made me want to watch it.

Yay, more Shameless! My go-to counter to the "Showtime shows always get worse and worse and are renewed forever" meme. Let's hope it stays that way!

I really appreciated the 60615 zipcode line because that's my zipcode.

No. It's fantastic and I, for one, have seen it several times.

Yup. Same boat.*

gasp! all those people with their homemade subways are putting good american workers out of business!!1!!

Agreed completely on the rebound in quality. Everyone is nice and it becomes about the cooking! I like it!

This is a really great explanation of why I liked Master so much. Definitely seconded.

The politics may be higher in my mind *because* I listened to the Black side first - the first seven or so minutes are largely just this type of political stuff and it may have put me in a disagreeable position with regards to the rest of the story.

Ah, that explains why people often preface the audios with "new;" I had wondered. Thanks!

Totally agree on Zagreus, which is an awful mess. I probably hate it a lot more than you do, actually - I actively struggled to get through it and repeatedly actually did work to try and prevent myself from finishing it (the only thing that kept me going is that I could listen to Scherzo afterwards, and that one was

Definitely agree with "politically odious." What exactly is supposed to be the message with respect to the Slithergees(sp?)? Affirmative action leads to the minority oppressing the majority? It was just so over-the-top ("I am a poor blind Slithergee" got on my nerves after about five seconds) and pointless. Urgh.

Chimes of Midnight

That's good to hear - thanks. I'll move it up on my list.

I'd like to see more. There are natural pilot-problems here (too many sex scenes imho, lots of people being drawn out as mere sketches), but I was definitely interested in Hailey's story and the music scenes (particularly the competition with the flutist, which I admit I found interesting because I've played some of
