Agreed entirely. They manage to provide depth to so many characters who only appear for one or two scenes, even to the extent where you really start to feel for those people as well.

Two Days, One Night is excellent. Cotillard is phenomenal (it would make a great companion piece to The Immigrant and Rust and Bone, because her performances in all three movies are strikingly different in her weakness/strength and intensity) and it has some of the most well-developed two-minute-on-screen characters I…
Really annoyed at Two Days, One Night not listed, but Ida and Force Majeure are both fantastic, and I also enjoyed (many portions of) Timbuktu a lot.
Sils Maria also, but I'm not sure that counts as this year.
Who is your favorite Doctor?
That would actually have been a great on George's part - good call!
Yeah, I would have been *really* annoyed if Gregory had been sent home (though Mei's dish was fantastic and really did look just like how I would imagine Walden Pond to be). The idea that he needed to make some easy, simplistic interpretation of "The Raven" instead of his clear joy/love of the work was just…
This is how I read it as well.
This is entirely correct and insightful. Thanks.
"Episodes are also planned for the Indiana Jones movies"
Yep, that type of thing happens far too often on public transit. Been in the car for it twice, once on the back half of the Green Line, and other time late at night on the Purple (and, yes, there's socioeconomic diversity to this kind of thing!). Hrm.
I'm halfway through Nekromanteia now and I have no idea what is going on. I also don't really care enough to want to try and figure out, because what I did follow, I really, really don't like. So definitely in the same boat as you and am completely expecting it to get worse.
This is my opinion on Neverland also. I never really bought the whole "anti-time" thing and could not follow anything beyond the very broad strokes of "evil things are happening." I totally understand NFET's positive reactions towards the emotions displayed, I'm just not…there yet.
I like the choice of eps here, because I'm at "Nekromanteia" (#41) in my listen of the Monthly Range, so Pirates/Beauty/Lazarus/etc are coming up soon. I'm especially looking forward to Pirates.
Shameless disagrees, as it has improved steadily every season.
Yup. *also tosses bone to Doctor Who. Or ten bones. I really liked this season*
I've mentioned Line of Duty Season 2 in one of these previous inventories: basically, there were a lot of good plot-based programs/thrillers out there, but LoDS2 blew them all away. Phenomenal, riveting to follow, complex and surprising…I would tell everyone to watch it, but I'm pretty sure I already have. Season 1…
Episode 4 of The Honourable Woman was one of the most riveting hours of television I've seen this year. It was fantastic, put an entirely new spin on everything that came before, and really set up the rest of the season to come. Great, great series.
Yeah, I agree with this. I kind of wish that all the contestants were generally nice, competent, and cooked well (though that was basically Top Chef Masters, and I loved that, so what do I know).
