I just want Holden to come back.

"The episode explores the damaging nature of secrecy, and what lies can do to a relationship, to a family, and to that unit’s ability to get closure — because Hardy and Ellie aren’t going to get anywhere in their investigation until the town of Broadchurch starts getting honest."

My mom has been raving since the first episode of this show (I tried to get her to see it online when it first aired; it delighted me that it was airing in the US on a channel they get) about the body language and placement of the characters. It's a lot more evident on rewatch that ever scene where the Latimers are

"Maybe he’s just Hanna’s backup boyfriend for once Caleb leaves for Ravenswood."

pfft, they wouldn't pull that again

Same and it's worth reiterating that Joe's recaps are excellent: he normally touches on all the hilarious, important, and downright unnecessary portions of the show, while also adding analysis. Enjoy the show, but I also enjoy the recaps.

I've seen Rapinoe play a number of times; when she's on, she's unstoppable, but when she's off, she's very off. I was at the Women's Champions League Final this year and, sadly, she was having the latter type of match (and Lyonnais, of course, were stunned by Wolfsburg).

"But unlike the men’s league, women’s professional soccer success—greater success in big tournaments—has not translated to consistent professional competition"

I was hoping the next one woul be #Maury

Uhh. It's a "#NotTheFather moment," not a "not the father! moment." It is very important you get this correct.

I will definitely do so! The local film store didn't have a copy of the movie available, so it might be a bit of time, but I will be sure to let you know when I do see it!

That's about as close to following me anyone has ever come! :p

Frankly, I tend to look forward to scenes where Mona is going to verbally spar with people and the one with Veronica Hastings didn't disappoint in the least.

I liked "Alias Grace" a lot, but I've heard lukewarm opinions from others in the past.

Updates from last month (since of course everyone is following along my every word. Right? …right?)! I finished William Thackeray's "Vanity Fair" and D. H. Lawrence's "Sons and Lovers," the latter of which I felt was a brilliant and wonderfully-constructed book. Took a quick break by grabbing more recent fiction, the

Also Wren will be in the next episode (if the preview didn't lie)! Clearly they're leading up to a Holden sighting in the finale. :p

I'm weirdly excited for the custody fight, actually…it's not "interesting", per se, but it's also not nearly as boring as he's been…

Olivia Colman is utterly excellent. The supporting characters, too, are uniformly good: David Bradley, in particular, gives a tremendous performance in a relatively limited role.

I loved Broadchurch when I saw it in the UK…excited to introduce it to some friends on this side of the pond.

Do I win a prize or something? :p
