THAT WAS DEFINITELY THE BEST BIT OF PRODUCT PLACEMENT EVER
This. It's an incredible work and every time I go back to it, I love it even more.
Liked Alias Grace a lot as well, but it's definitely one not a lot of people have read.
Big, big Emma fan here. Austen is just the best.
(just as a contextual tool: I'll probably finish today on the trainride back from work…I read quickly and I've had a bit of time on the train/lunch breaks :) )
Not in a while, I'm afraid. I'm taking a rather meandering path through the "free via Project Gutenberg" set of novels, heh.
About 150 pages of "Vanity Fair" left and D. H. Lawrence's "Sons and Lovers" is next on the list.
For me it's a Bunheads one too: when Ginny is trying to get help for her audition for "Bells are Ringing", she sings, Sutton Foster's face gets progressively more and more irritated, and then she performs that song on an entirely different level. It's still my ultimate "show, don't tell" moment on television, because…
Tuned out for large portions of this ep - no interest whatsoever in Ravenswood (except for the Metra North Line stop) and the rest of the ep was quite blah as well. Next week will hopefully be much more intriguing.
This is very, very true.
A not-terrible-but-played-absolutely-terribly German B team, if we're being fair.
Nothing about anyone's crush on Lee Mack is confounding.
Agreed entirely. I'm looking forward to some competent policing - should add a whole new level of fun to the show.
"“Face Time” offers a pretty ideal blend of everything a good PLL episode should have" I agree entirely and actually came to the review to post this. Am loving the PLL reviews partially because I generally agree with pretty much everything.
"also this show's Hitchcock allusions - Vertigo, Psycho, North by
Northwest - are so well-crafted and, more to the point, WHO DOES THAT" I think the diner where this ep began was called the Rear Window, also.
