Getting a "win" from danrimage is right up there with the time zmf sent me an email.

This never happened to the other fellow.

My first was Shotgun because of this site, and then I read the first one Cop Killer, which was very good, and then the back-to-back entries Heat and Ice. Those two were definitely the best I've read. As for starting points, were I you I'd start with Cop Killer and work my way up. Or do what I'm actually doing and skip

I agree witcha Keith
This was good, but it didn't approach the 87th Precinct books I've read. Hey Keith, have you seen The Lady Vanishes? I coincidentally saw it for the first time right before I read this, and they share a central conceit. Pretty interesting.

Haha!
Those fucking bulldykes want the troops to come home and stop dying in Iraq! What a bunch of unpatriotic lesbians they are! I'm glad brave warriors like Trace Atkins and Bill O'Reilly continue to stay as far away from combat as their cowardly fucking asses will let them so we can all be free and Jesus and God

Yeah, I only remember that scene vaguely. I did remember it was Gena Rowlands though. Woman Under The Influence - THERE'S a movie!

YOU LOVE MOTHER RUSSIA, DON'T YOU?

Manhattan
Aww, you guys were hard on Manhattan! Sure, it's pretentious, but I certainly wish I were familiar with more of the names dropped by Allen in the dialogue. Also, I love Interiors, but I really couldn't connect with Another Woman at all. I found it just as dark and humorless as Interiors, but without the

Yeah in doing some research I see many of his movies have very shoddy DVD presentations here in the US. Kino is a pretty reliable company though, so maybe I'll check that set out.

::cuts penis off::

I haven't seen any Chabrol
Where is a good place to start? Are any of his movies on Criterion? Is that set from KINO any good? I've been burned by box sets before - I bought that Godard set from Anchor Bay that came out a while ago despite the bad reviews - I couldn't get through any of them.

I watched Collateral again recently, which has Javier Bardem in a small one-scene role. I was only peripherally reminded of Chigurh. The guy's a good actor.

Try the hefartafelt - it's the best in the city.

To be fair, Stiller started as and remains a comedian. I see no hypocrisy in a successful comedian biting the hand that feeds him, so to speak.

It offend

"Influence"
Are the Olsens really writing a book about what influences them? Shouldn't it just be about booze and coke then?

Woo! Woo!

Wow.
I'm always amazed when AV Club gets an interview with a genuine icon. This is like when you guys interviewed Paul McCartney a year or so ago. I would've preferred he discussed his other movies a little, but I suppose it's obvious why he didn't.

Yeah, NOBODY gives Woody any shit about Soon-Yi. He's beyond reproach.

Putting the insults of Match Point aside, I really like Crimes and Misdemeanors too. Maybe my favorite Woody Allen movie. Besides Bananas of course.
