@ dr. venkman: as a purely biological reason, humans live as long as we do because grandparents are a help in child rearing. otherwise, we'd drop off right after spawing, like salmon.

wow. my great-grandma turns 100 in about 2 weeks. she won't babysit either.

"can't touch this" is used in powerline safety commercials (featuring a squirrel!) produced by my local power company (cl&p).

misnomer?
these women sound like trophy-wives, not housewives.

i'm 32. am i now old?

[bang]

@otp: i like maker's mark. just think knob creek is better. it's the maple notes; just a fine, fine thing in a bourbon.

oh, c'mon. at least pony up for knob creek.

new age dad?
i thought we'd moved past the point where a father actually helping care for his kids and doing stuff around the house was a novel concept.

best chocolates? roger's chocolates empress squares. heaven.

@ dumbfounded: yeah, there are generic knock-off of everything. but even those eventually turn into brands (of a sort)

unbranded legos? what the hell are those? lego is a brand. lego has also (as far as i can tell) moved towards more set based stuff. it's not just a box o' blocks any more.

people are going to the drive-in to watch the movies? i thought drive-ins were just places to go fuck.
