"…lake… big lake…"

"…lake… big lake…"

I will scour around for it- no local public broadcaster around here… I miss TVO!

that's punk- different than 'indie'…

Bartender!

what beer are we on?

TPOH? What Toronto awfulness. Redeemed… by the great Dinner is Ruined. Of which no existing used CD can be found, or, alas, no torrent.

'in service of very simple forms'- exactly! Though I think sometimes of say, Moe Tucker's drumming in the VU, and I'm not terribly sure we're witnessing restrained musicianship, but inspired.

yes, virtuosity can be a real bore and often tries to fill the void where meaning should be, meaning as in inspiration, or message… sounds lame but great art doesn't demand physical labour or technical wizardry, but it does demand you give it some thought! That's the effort.

Interesting article- and succinctly describing the situation with most art these days: content popping up like body snatchers, obscuring less radical forms (guitar rock, oil on canvas, rhyming couplets, whatever)… and making them seem antiquated, and often aping, or co-opting their imagery… and their souls!

no, not worse, just equally fucking ridiculous. I'm almost tempted to find out what thin soup their music actually is, but… eh, I've got more unimportant things to do…

Worse than "We Were Promised Jetpacks"?

yeah… that's odd-

I think I owe Mick a beer…

hmm!

Oh god- does reading this make me gay?

Agreed! The tone of absurdity and silliness reminded me of KITH, as well as the confidence to throw in a difficult sketch now and then. I like the show's slow burn, repetition, and commitment to characters. Some duds, but some hilarity, and that's a relief from the noisy gonzo of network comedy.

OK- those aren't real names…

…And a link to the Comics Journal 'reprint' of Motorbooty's "Perfect Harmony" starring the Louvin Bros., by the inimitable Dancey. Scroll about 3/4's of the way down, voila. Or enjoy the whole summaria of Motorbooty's short reign in the world of zines…
