I want Jax's bright white shoes. During season 3 I pointed out to my friend that everyone wears dark shoes/boots, except Jax. He quit watching before season 4 because every time he saw Jax he just stared at his shoes. I need those shoes for a trophy to lord over him.

Hackman was great in the scene above but I still love the end bar fight.

War Machine could have easily been replaced by someone who was white before the character appeared in the movies. I do not think he could be now, nor would I have liked a white actor portraying him to begin with. I would not have liked a white actor playing the falcon in captain america, but it could have happened

I think a lot of this is overblown. Quality, no matter who it is written by, will always sell and be popular. One of my favorite Iron Man runs was when Rhodes took over for the alcoholic Stark. Most people did not care that he was black, they cared because the story was engaging. I read mostly independent and some

Gaiman's work has not aged well in my opinion. When it came out, it was great and people ate it up because it was different. With self publishing and so many independents all over the place it makes his work seems tame for now.

Looking through this list, it seems they go out of their way to read many many independents while eschewing a lot of mainstream titles. I like a ton of stuff on there for a list with 1000 on it but stop being "edgy". No Transmetropolitan? Planetary? Powers? Maybe throw a bone Azzarello's way and read 100 Bullets.

"the thugs Rick encounters never get much characterization beyond their
apparent willingness to kill one another at a drop of a hat"

Eddie Izzard better be voicing Darth Vader, or Jeff Vader….okay, I will settle for a guy working at that coffee shop

What other indy comics do you read that I could care less about?

40,000 people die every day, how come you're not one of them?

I like your phrase "Irresponsibly fucking bad" and shall now use it abundantly……mainly to antagonize my wife by characterizing her decisions as such, especially as it pertains to animal and child rearing.

How do you like anything on the newsroom?  I made it through 2 episodes and just couldn't take it any more……but I was not mad as hell.

Raiders of the lost ark losing to chariots of fire and saving private ryan losing to shakespeare in love…both had to sleight the great Spielberg in his prime.

Insulting an audience and then linking your goods for personal gain……living the the dream one post at a time.

Does it matter?  Next year Marvel will have another herogasm crossover that makes these issues moot.  Or maybe they will go back in time and change stuff….nevermind, they're doing that now.  Maybe Wolverine will  travels back in time and create himself, thereby once and for all proving that the chicken came first.

What does that bring the count up to?

I read it because of Brubaker and Rucka.  It was good, not their best works, but I liked it enough to buy it

So does battle of the atom take place before or after Jack goes back in time and detonates the atomic bomb?

"Meanwhile, Marvel is doing probably the best work that they have ever done on almost every book."  This is either blasphemy or an oxymoron…..I can not decide which.  Brubaker's Cap was the best it's been in years.

They had the suicide squad which was replaced with secret six, which was replaced with the New52 suicide squad……Why have a villains month when you have a villains comic already?
