Your grammar is as impeccable as your reasoning.

I do have to say that the fiery bat symbol was one thing that bothered me in the movie, but I was more just amused by it.  Bane's destroying Gotham and Batman's dangling from a building making sure his bat symbol looks juuuuuuusssst riiiiiightttt.

Also a lot of killing his own thugs was done as an example to the other thugs.  I think it helped indicate how much he thought of his gang as a single organism rather than a group of individuals.

I agree.  I think it's more like a warning or a display of concern.  Nolan's portraying  a potential consequence of vast economic inequalities, not saying he agrees with the actions of the characters.

My one question is why Talia slept with Bruce and asked him to run off with her - was it genuinely her putting aside her mission and hoping for a different life or was she simply playing the part?

Yeah, I don't think it's anti-Occupy - more that it is opposed to the same things OWS opposes and fears where society will end up if do nothing about it.  Sort of like Alfred's line from the 2nd film about desperate people turning to men (or leaders or causes) they don't understand.

I thought they explained that it was "Bane's prison now" and the doctor had even been punished by Bane for how the former treated Bane's face injuries…

The reveal of their relationship and its exact nature was probably my second favorite part of the movie.

An origin story might be fun.
