I thought Adam's advice was somewhat poignant, actually.  It went something like, "Because life beat you up on your way here, you have to beat yourself up even more to get where you need to be."

It was important in the same way Sanford & Son and All In the Family were important, in that it represented a "slice" of American life that was distractingly underrepresented on television. Growing Pains and Family Ties never made much sense to me, but I could always relate to Roseanne…and, yeah, it had John Goodman.

I kind find a way to enjoy a lot of movies, but I was just miserable the entire time during that one. I think I might have laughed a couple of times, but there were several times where it was so stupid it just made me depressed.

The Hangover is horrible. I hate it so much, I almost want to quit drinking, just because alcohol has a connection to the movie.

Mythagoras, your argument implies that a species is somehow able to objectively view itself. Sure the alien species may not be less violent or morally superior than ours, but that doesn't mean it doesn't take issue with how we behave. The obvious analogy is how many cultures find Western (or specifically American)

Oscar, wasn't it hinted at pretty strongly when she was the one to introduce him, her responses to Weyland's mention of David as "the closest thing I have to a son," etc?
