Man, Alisha was really treated like shit on this show. If she was gonna go out like this you'd think they would have developed her more this season or something.

Yep. For me, season 1 focused on Nathan, season 2 was all about Simon/Alisha, and this season Kelly was developed the most. So you're right, this would have fit in a lot better at the end of season 2, where it could have finished the Superhoodie plot off forever.

Wake me up when Versus XIII comes out.

Yeah, it really wasn't very convincing. While I was happy Edith got a sympathetic story, once again she looked like an idiot compared to Mary.

The thing is, that moment had lasting repercussions for all the characters. The plots this season just ping pong back and forth with no lasting development. Isobel leaves Downton, comes back again, leaves again. Matthew gets permanently disabled, then gets better. Anna and Bates are together, then seperated, then…

IMO soap operas are just shows with continuous open narratives
and many plot strands. They center mostly around family or work life and have a focus on relationships, taking place on mostly interior sets and not involving complex action or stunt work. In the last 20 years the traditional soap format died out and was…
