I'm thinking the same thing. He's complaining about lots of things that could be cancer eating his brain. Plus the sniffing from Hannibal. It's a big change, but it fits with what they're presenting.

I thought it seemed in keeping with Will's general social awkwardness. He's going through a lot as he deals with all the horrific murders. Probably acting on stuff that's been brewing for a while, but he never could figure out how to get started.
Do you think he uses human meat at every meal or just for special occasions and honored guests. We know that he used it for the dinner party. We know he feeds it to Jack. I didn't really get the impression here that he would automatically use it with Tobias — but maybe I missed something?
"Though Jeremy had to die in order to push Elena into the next phase of her life as a vampire, the writers quickly realized that it'd be impossible to bring her back from that dark, desperately tragic point in her life unless they revived Jeremy. Without him, Elena was looking down a long, black tunnel of depression —…
Maybe now that he's got a grandkid on the way for them, he thinks Esther and Mikael will cut him some slack. Worked for my brother, anyway.
@avclub-56dfc41867dc4d05e285222c24c4e7c2:disqus I would trade Bonnie and Jeremy for Alaric in a heartbeat.
Ohhh, I almost forgot: Matt graduated alive AND human. Massive win.
I figured they just never bothered to tell her they had it. Alaric gave it to Damon, who doesn't give a shit about Rebekah. Stefan knew, but he was too busy hanging out with Lexi to care. If they had told her about it and she suddenly didn't want it anymore then I'd be pissed.
@avclub-3f2263ada00cf404ac8d4b205f830508:disqus Dopplegangers for everyone! Matt dopplegangers! Alaric dopplegangers!
Actually we probably don't need anymore Damons. That would only lead to weird, weird places. So dopplegangers for everyone but Damon!
Yeah, I wanted my dead people war. Sad that we didn't get it.
@avclub-fc338fa43180570a8ea616e97bb20dfa:disqus God I hope she's a Bennett doppleganger.
Ah, but see Morgan and likely Davis are gone so it probably just means more Jeremy-Silas. And we all know how that goes.
Ghosts though — we will definitely have some ghosts.
I don't get at all why someone hasn't held him down and siphoned off a bunch of his blood. Lovely echo of him doing the same to Elena plus no more werewolf nonsense.
@avclub-5d546b1b257d62c86b63a948f21fab5c:disqus I really hope that's what will happen. On old TVD the characters all talked to each other and the plot burned past like it was covered in gasoline. But this last season was filled with poor communication and long-over-drawn-out nightmare plots (see: the Cure).
I think it's the same one they were locking Elena in a few episodes back — but I had the same reaction you did at the time. WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM?
@avclub-011d0b4fe6835bb3d37ef4e0ea713de6:disqus I wouldn't be surprised if they went somewhere similar to what you lay out. We know Silas and we know Q and we know lots of variations of their story — all of which include Silas' 'lost love' who conveniently has no name.
I think she's dead, but not going anywhere really. I think she's still signed on as regular cast right?
But of course Silas has to hang around — so he can get nerfed like Damon and Katherine and Klaus. This time next season we'll be groaning about his love triangle with April and Lexi (through Jeremy, of course).
I'm happy we got pepped up vampire Alaric instead of the evil one. He was super grating and over-the-top. I was thinking in the last episode that his vampire powers might be linked to his personality disorder, but it seems like death cured that right up.
